Perubahan Tingkat Kenyamanan Berdasarkan Indeks Panas (Humidex) di Kalimantan Barat

Abstract

The comfort level is the interaction between human and environment related to weather and climate. This level of comfort is sufficient to influence human activities both indoors and outdoors. The increase in temperature caused by global warming potentially causes changes in the level of comfort felt by humans. West Kalimantan, which is located in the equatorial region, generally receives intensive solar radiation so that the average air temperature is relatively high. This research was conducted to determine trends in temperature changes and changes in the level of thermal comfort due to climate change using humidex in West Kalimantan. The data used are monthly average temperature and humidity data for 30 years at six stations, namely Mempawah Climatology Station, Supadio Meteorological Station, Sambas Meteorological Station, Melawi Meteorological Station, Sintang Meteorological Station, and Ketapang Meteorological Station. The results of humidex calculations show that the average monthly humidex ranges from 37.5 ° C to 39.2 ° C. This value indicates that uncomfortable conditions due to heat are very common in West Kalimantan. The temperature has increased during the period 1990-2019. This increase indicates that climate change has occurred in West Kalimantan. Humidex trend is also increases in the period 1990-2019. However, the increasing trend is still in the range of “feeling uncomfortable due to heat” category (35⁰C - 39⁰C).
