Europäische Revue y el “Premio literario de las revistas europeas” (1929-30): un proyecto cultural fallido

espanolEn 1929 la revista cultural alemana Europaische Revue invito a otras cuatro publicaciones europeas, de cuatro paises diversos, a participar en la puesta en marcha del “Premio literario de las revistas europeas”, que cada ano organizaria cada una de las cabeceras, con su idioma como protagonista. Las revistas participantes eran, ademas de la alemana, la inglesa The Criterion, la espanola Revista de Occidente, la francesa La Nouvelle Revue francaise y la italiana Nuova Antologia. Se celebro la primera edicion del premio, en lengua alemana, que fue para Der Hauptmann von Kapernaum, de Ernst Wiechert, pero el proyecto quedo despues interrumpido. El objetivo del presente articulo es aportar nuevos datos sobre la evolucion de esta iniciativa y esgrimir el motivo del fracaso de las ediciones siguientes EnglishIn 1929 the German cultural review Europaische Revue invited four other European reviews, from different countries, to participate in the launching of “The Five Reviews’ Award”, to be organized each year by one of the publications, in their own language. These reviews were, in addition to the German one, the English The Criterion, the Spanish Revista de Occidente, the French La Nouvelle Revue francaise, and the Italian Nuova Antologia. The first edition of the contest, in German language, was held, and the prize was awarded to Der Hauptmann von Kapernaum, by Ernst Wiechert, but the project, however, was later interrupted. The aim of this paper is to analyse the evolution of this initiative: to examine and describe the development, circumstances and consequences of the contest, and to attempt to explain the failure of subsequent editions.
