Pengaruh pendekatan STEM untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep elektroplating, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan bekerja sama

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of STEM approach on the understanding of electroplating concepts, critical thinking skills and skills of working together of class XII IPA 1 students of SMAN 5 Denpasar in the 2018/2019 academic year with a one group pretest posttest control group design research design. Data on understanding the concept of electroplating were collected through a pretest and posttest using a written essay test, critical thinking skills and collaboration were collected through observation. The sample in this study amounted to 29 students. The research data were processed using the t test with t test = 7.94 and t table = 1.05, meaning that t test> t table, and normalized N-gain obtained an average of = 0.72. Based on the results of this study, it shows that: there is an effect of learning with the STEM approach on understanding the concept of electroplating, critical thinking skills, and skills of students in class XII IPA 1 in the 2018/2019 academic year.\nPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan STEM terhadap pemahaman konsep elektroplating, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan bekerja sama peserta didik kelas XII IPA 1 SMAN 5 Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019 dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest posttest control group design. Data pemahaman konsep elektroplating dikumpulkan melalui pretest dan postes dengan menggunakan test tertulis bentuk essay, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan bekerjasama dikumpulkan lewat observasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 29 orang peserta didik. Data hasil penelitian diolah dengan menggunakan uji t dengan thitung = 7,94 dan ttabel = 1,05, berarti thitung > ttabel, dan N-gain ternormalisasi diperoleh rata-rata = 0,72. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap pemahaman konsep elektroplating, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan bekerjasama peserta didik kelas XII IPA 1 tahun pelajaran 2018/2019.
