Limits on neutral light scalar and pseudoscalar particles in a proton beam dump experiment

A search has been performed for weakly interacting neutral light scalar and pseudoscalar particles in a proton beam dump experiment. No positive signal is observed. Limits on the mass and life-time of these particles are set in the frame of the Standard Model and its minimal supersymmetric extension. The Higgs particle of theSU2L×U1 Standard Theory is excluded for masses in the range 1 MeV<mH<80 MeV at 95%CL. Limits on the Peccei-Quinn like axions are derived.

Abstract Data from a proton beam-dump experiment at the 70 GeV Serpukhov accelerator were analysed to search for heavy neutrino decays ν H → e + e − ν e at the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector. No signal over background was found. The upper limits on the elements if a mixing matrix | U eH | 2 in the mass range 5 m νH U eH || U μH | in the mass range 3 m νH

ATLAS monitored drift tube assembly and test at IHEP (Protvino)

Abstract The Monitored Drift Tube is the basic element of the muon spectrometer of ATLAS detector at LHC. More than 14xa0000 such tubes have been assembled and tested at IHEP (Protvino) in framework of construction of end-cap drift chambers for the spectrometer. This paper reports some details of assembling techniques and quality control and assurance test results.

Abstract We extract the high-twist contribution to the neutrino–nucleon structure function xF 3 (ν+ ν )N from the analysis of the data collected by the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector in the runs with the focused neutrino beams at the IHEP 70 GeV proton synchrotron. The analysis is performed within the infrared renormalon (IRR) model of high twists in order to extract the normalization parameter of the model. From the NLO QCD fit to our data we obtain the value of the IRR model normalization parameter Λ23=0.69±0.37xa0(exp)±0.16xa0(theor)xa0GeV2. We also obtain Λ23=0.36±0.22xa0(exp)±0.12xa0(theor)xa0GeV2 from a similar fit to the CCFR data. The average of both results is Λ23=0.44±0.19xa0(exp)xa0GeV2.

A search has been performed for weakly interacting neutral light scalar and pseudoscalar particles in a proton-iron beam dump experiment via the Bethe-Heitler process. No positive signal was observed. Limits are derived on the masses of these particles in the framework of the Standard Model and its minimal supersymmetric extension (MSSM) comparing the experimental results with expectations for Bethe-Heitler e+e− and μ+μ− pair production. The Higgs particle of the SU2L×U1 Standard Theory is excluded for masses in the range mH<0.9 MeV at 95% CL. Limits on light Higgs particles of the MSSM and Peccei-Quinn like axions are derived.
