Role of density fluctuations in bimolecular reaction kinetics

A. A. Ovchinnikov; Ya.B. Zeldovich

Abstract The influence of initial thermal density fluctuations of reactants on the bimolecular reaction kinetics (A + B→C) is considered. It is shown that the

Investigation of the pharmacokinetics and mechanism of action of eleutherococcus glycosides.: III. Calculation of the conformations of therapeutic glycosides (With eleutherosides as examples)

I. L. Shamovskii; A. A. Ovchinnikov; G. M. Barenboim

There are many biologically active natural glycosides known at the present time which are isolated from different kinds of plants and possess various pharmacological activities. For the majority of glycosides the mechanisms of physiological action have not been clarified up to the present time. One of the approaches to the study of the indicated mechanisms is the establishment of the steric and electronic structures of molecules of substances knowledge of which permits an opinion to be formed on how they are able to interact with receptors.

Use of methods of fluorescence-absorption analysis and pattern recognition for evaluating the biological activity of chemical compounds. I. Quantum chemical interpretation of the absorption spectra of steroid hormones

In recent years methods of the theory of pattern recognition have been widely used for solving chemical, biological, and medical problems. In this case the most varied data are used as parameters: NMR and mass spectra, valences of the atoms, melting point, size of molecules,AH of melting, etc. The electronic spectra frequently are also sensitive to fine changes in the structure and therefore can be used for pattern recognition in solving the problem of evaluating the nature and degree of physiological activity of drugs.
