We have shown that isobutyl- and 2-chloroisobutyldichlorophosphine react with SbF/sub 3/ differently than has been described in the case of other alkyldichlorophosphines. Thus, when an equimolar ratio of reagents is used, dichlorophosphine forms with SbF/sub 3/ a mixture consisting of isobutyltetrafluorophosphorane, isobutyldifluorophosphine, and isobutylfluorochlorophosphine. The /sup 31/NMR spectra were taken on the Bruker HX-90 instrument at 36.43 MHz. the chemical shifts were determined relative to 85% H/sup 3/PO/sup 4/
