A one step synthesis of phosphine substituted sulphur capped clusters from phosphine sulphides: X-ray crystal structures of [Fe3(CO)8(µ2-CO)(µ3-S)(Ph2PC2Pri)] and [Ru3(CO)8(µ3-S)2(Ph2PC2But)]

Graeme Hogarth; Nicholas J. Taylor; Arthur J. Carty; A. Meyer

Reactions of phosphine sulphides with Fe2(CO)9 and Ru3(CO)12 occur via phosphorus–sulphur bond cleavage producing sulphido-capped trinuclear clusters; X-ray crystal structures of [Fe3(CO)8(µ2-CO)(µ3-S)(Ph2PC2Pri)] and [Ru3(CO)8(µ3-S)2(Ph2PC2But)] are described.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1981

Stabilisation de l'acetylenedicarbaldehyde. preparation et structure de complexes acetylenedicarbaldehyde-cobaltcarbonyle.

A. Meyer; Alain Gorgues; Y. Le Floc'h; Y. Pineau; J. Guillevic; J.Y. Le Marouille

Abstract The chemical stabilization of acetylenedicarbaldehyde ADCA by complexation is reported; the X-Ray structures of two complexes ADCA(Co)2L6 (L = CO, PPh3) show two conformers of the ADCA moiety.

Tetrahedron | 1975

Contribution a l'etude des metaux asymetriques—II : Voie d'acces aux premiers complexes pseudo tetraedriques du chrome (0) enantiomeriquement stables

G. Jaouen; A. Meyer; Gérard Simonneaux

Abstract Modes of access to several pseudo tetrahedral complexes having an asymmetric chromium atom are presented. The chirality at the metal atom is demonstrated by NMR. The first enantiomers of chiral chromium (0) are obtained in optically pure forms.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1979

Stereoselective nucleophilic attacks on carbenium ions generated from (1-indanol)- and (1-tetralol)Cr(CO)3 as synthetic intermediates.

Siden Top; A. Meyer; G. Jaouen

Abstract Temporary complexation of an arene ring by the Cr(CO) 3 unit bringing about both a considerably enhanced stabilization of adjacent carbenium ions and a total control of nucleophilic attack in an “exo” fashion allows important applications in organic synthesis.

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry | 1975

Facile Cr(CO)3 exchange between arenic ligands as a new method for the synthesis of benchrotrenic compounds

A. Meyer; G. Jaouen

Abstract Tertiary alcohols derived from benzenetricarbonylchromium are used as a source of Cr(CO)3 unit; this reaction allows direct synthesis of compounds bearing various functional groups but no asymmetric induction occurs in the exchange.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1974

Stereospecific attack of Grignard reagents on optically active (indan-1-one)-and (1-tetralone)-tricarbonyl chromium derivatives. Use in the synthesis of free optically pure tertiary alcohols

A. Meyer; Gérard Jaouen

The use of chiral tricarbonyl chromium complexes in the preparation of optically active tertiary alcohol derivatives of indan-1-ol and 1-tetralol is described.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1975

Use of carbonylchromium groups for selective activation of arene substituents

Gérard Jaouen; A. Meyer; Gérard Simonneaux

The Cr(CO)2L unit[L = CO, CS, PPh3, P(OPh)3] may be used to increase reactivity, enhance selectivity, or protect the substituents of complexed arene rings with respect to alkylation.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1975

First examples of resolved enantiomeric chromium(0)

Gérard Simonneaux; A. Meyer; Gérard Jaouen

The resolution of chiral chromium centres generated from optically active arene tricarbonyl chromium precursors is presented.

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1975

Facile syntheses of optically active 2-substituted indanones, indanols, tetralones, and tetralols via their chromium tricarbonyl complexes

Gérard Jaouen; A. Meyer

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1980

Stereospecific synthesis of optically active benzobicyclic ring systems coordinated to tricarbonylchromium with predetermined absolute configurations

A. Meyer; Otmar Hofer
