The results of theoretical and an experimental research of dispersion characteristics and fields distribution of a coupled cavity chain with periodic discontinuities (CNCC) in a resonant condition are presented. Communication of displacement size of band components dispersion characteristics of non-uniform system relatively a uniform system dispersion and stopband width between them from size, number and the position discontinuities is established. Local character of field distribution on resonant modes of bands CNCC located near to longwave boundary of uniforms system is revealed.

The results are presented of an investigation of the forced waves of a coupled cavity periodic structure of final length, i.e., results of research of forced waves in slow wave structures with inductive coupled cavities. The results establish the character of the change of the field amplitude and phase distribution of the system on the forced wave frequencies that are not equal to the self frequencies of the system. For the estimation of the efficiency of interaction of an electron beam with the field of a coupled cavity periodic structure with the transitional matching arrangement in a wide band of frequencies, it is necessary to take into account not only the character, but also the value, of change of distribution of amplitude and phase of a field on the length of system by propagation to its own and, especially, the forced waves.

The results of an experimental study of dispersion characteristics and field distribution of the main and higher order modes of multi-row interdigital slow wave structures with their size changes are presented. The ways of increasing the frequency separation of the main and higher order modes and the operating excitation band of the main mode. The study of the forced oscillations of the multirow interdigital slow wave structure with exponential H-waveguide power ports has shown the possibility of a single-mode excitation in a wide bandwidth.

The paper presents an experimental study of the coupling impedance of multirow interdigital structures using the actual distribution of the longitudinal component of the electric field of transverse (basic and higher) types of waves. The estimation of the competitiveness of working and parasitic waves types of multi-row systems by changing a position of the transverse waveguide screen.

Results of an experimental research of the localized fields distribution raised in a coupled nonidentical cavity chain with waveguide matching arrangement in its stopband are presented. Local oscillations with exponential falling down character of the fields raised in stopband CCC with single discontinuities by periodicity disturbance on the ends of system and in its middle are found out.
