The internal friction background in the low frequency region is known to consist mainly of two parts. For fully magnetized specimens the background is caused by an oscillation of dislocation segments [1]. The other source of damping observed in demagnetized or partially magnetized ferromagnetic originates from the irreversible movement of the 90 ° magnetic domain boundaries [1]. The magnetomechanical damping in nickel is negligible at low and very high strain amplitudes [2] ; it shows a maximum when measured as a function of magnetic field [2,3], and increases with decreasing temperature [2].
