Low-threshold CW laser oscillation on Cr4+:Mg2SiO4 crystal

V. F. Lebedev; S. Yu. Tenyakov; A. V. Gaister; A. V. Konyashchenko; Evgeny V. Zharikov; A V Shestakov

Double reducing threshold of laser oscillation between two crystals of equal geometry (3x3x10 mm3) and different pump absorption (80 and 50 %, correspondingly) was observed. For both cases the value of slope efficiency was nearly 22%. The lowest threshold of absorbed pump power 360 mW with 2% OC was measured for series crystals with small pump absorption. The focusing of pump beam was no tight (waist radius 38 mm) in comparison with similar experiments with forsterite crystals.

Longitudinally diode-pumped 1.06-{mu}m Nd{sup 3+}:NaLa(MoO{sub 4}){sub 2} laser without pump-wavelength stabilisation

Evgeny V. Zharikov; D. A. Lis; K. A. Subbotin; S. N. Ushakov; A. M. Onishchenko; V A Romanyuk; A V Shestakov

The spectral and lasing characteristics of a Nd{sup 3+}:NaLa(MoO{sub 4}){sub 2} crystal longitudinally diode-pumped without pump-wavelength stabilisation are studied. A variation in the output power did not exceed 30% when the pump wavelength was changed in the spectral region from 0.794 to 0.811 {mu}m. (lasers)

Lasing properties of sodium-gadolinium tungstate NaGd(WO{sub 4}){sub 2} crystals doped with Tm{sup 3+} ions

Evgeny V. Zharikov; D. A. Lis; A. V. Popov; K. A. Subbotin; S. N. Ushakov; A V Shestakov; I M Razdobreev

Lasing is obtained in Tm3+-doped sodium—gadolinium tungstate NaGd(WO4)2 crystals longitudinally pumped by pulses from a laser diode bar. The slope lasing efficiency is 16%. Lasing was observed at wavelengths of 1957, 1944, 1936, and 1901 nm for the transmission coefficients of the output mirror Tout = 0.3%, 1.4%, 3.3%, and 8.5%, respectively.

Pulsed and cw lasing in a new Cr{sup 3+}:Li:Mg{sub 2}SiO{sub 4} laser crystal

A. V. Gaister; Evgeny V. Zharikov; Ivan A. Shcherbakov; V. F. Lebedev; S Yu Tenyakov; A. S. Podstavkin; A V Shestakov

CW and pulsed lasing is obtained for the first time in Cr{sup 3+} ions in a forsterite (Mg{sub 2}SiO{sub 4}) crystal codoped with lithium ions. Pulsed lasing is tunable in the spectral range from 1030 to 1180 nm. (lasers)CW and pulsed lasing is obtained for the first time in Cr3+ ions in a forsterite (Mg2SiO4) crystal codoped with lithium ions. Pulsed lasing is tunable in the spectral range from 1030 to 1180 nm.

Lasers utilizing YSGG:Cr:Nd, YLF:Nd, and YAG:Nd crystals as master oscillators in combination with a phosphate glass amplifier

A comparative study was made of amplification of radiation emitted from YSGG:Cr:Nd, YLF:Nd, and YAG:Nd crystal lasers in a single-pass amplifier utilizing LGS-32 phosphate glass. The results indicated that a YSGG:Cr:Nd crystal laser was a promising master oscillator for the use in combination with phosphate glass amplifiers.
