In this paper, the heat transfer effect on the unsteady boundary layer flow of a Casson fluid past an infinite oscillating vertical plate with Newtonian heating is investigated. The governing equations are transformed to a systems of linear partial differential equations using appropriate non-dimensional variables. The resulting equations are solved analytically by using the Laplace transform method and the expressions for velocity and temperature are obtained. They satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions and reduce to some well-known solutions for Newtonian fluids. Numerical results for velocity, temperature, skin friction and Nusselt number are shown in various graphs and discussed for embedded flow parameters. It is found that velocity decreases as Casson parameters increases and thermal boundary layer thickness increases with increasing Newtonian heating parameter.

An exact analysis of heat and mass transfer past an oscillating vertical plate with Newtonian heating is presented. Equations are modelled and solved for velocity, temperature, and concentration using Laplace transforms. The obtained solutions satisfy governing equations and conditions. Expressions of skin friction, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number are obtained and presented in tabular forms. The results show that increasing the Newtonian heating parameter leads to increase velocity and temperature distributions whereas skin friction decreases and rate of heat transfer increases.

Heat and mass transfer phenomenon in a micropolar fluid is analyzed. The fluid occupies the space over an infinite oscillating vertical plate with Newtonian heating. The plate executes cosine type of oscillations. Exact solutions are obtained using the Laplace transform technique. Expressions for velocity, microrotation, temperature and concentration are obtained. Graphs for velocity and microrotation are plotted for various embedded parameters and discussed.

This article investigates the effects of slip condition on free convection flow of viscous incompressible fluid past an oscillating vertical plate with Newtonian heating and constant mass diffusion. The governing equations together with imposed initial and boundary conditions are solved using the Laplace transform technique. The results for velocity, temperature and concentration are obtained and plotted for the embedded parameters. The results for skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are computed in table. It is investigated that the presence of slip parameter reduces the fluid velocity.

Abstract In this study, steady two-dimensional flow of a viscoplastic Casson fluid past a stretching surface is considered under the effects of thermal radiation and viscous dissipation. Both suction and injection flows situations are considered. The partial differential governing equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations and solved analytical. Analytical solutions for velocity and temperature are obtained in terms of hypergeometric function and discussed graphically. Moreover, numerical results are also obtained by Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg fourth–fifth-order (RKF45) method and compared with the analytical results. The results showed that the injection and suction parameter can be used to control the direction and strength of flow. The effects of Casson parameter on the temperature and velocity are quite opposite. The effects of thermal radiation on the temperature are much more stronger in case of injection. The heat transfer coefficient shows higher value for Casson fluid while for Newtonian fluid is the lowest.

The stagnation point flow of a vicous fluid towards a stretching sheet with slip conditions and viscous dissipation is studied. With the help of similarity transformation, the govering equations are converted to nonlinear ordinary differential equations and then solved numerically by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg (RKF) technique. Numerical results for the local Nusselt number and skin friction coefficient as well as the temperature and velocity field are elucidated through tables and graphs. The influence of Prandtl number, stretching parameter, Eckert number, thermal and velocity slip parameter on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are analyzed and discussed.

In this paper, the boundary layer magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) flow of Williamson nanofluids over a stretching sheet with Newtonian heating in the presence of thermal radiation effect is analyzed. Using a similarity transformation, the governing equations are reduced to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). These equations are solved numerically using a shooting method. The effects of Williamson parameter, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter, Prandtl number, Lewis number, Schmidt number, heat capacities ratio, thermophoretic diffusivity and conjugate parameter on velocity, temperature and concentration fields are shown graphically and discussed. It is found that the rate of heat transfer is higher for Williamson nanofluids compared to the classical viscous fluid. Also, the comparisons with existing results are provided in the literature.

Thermal-diffusion and chemical reaction effects on mixed convection heat and mass transfer flow past an infinite oscillating vertical plate with Newtonian heating is investigated. The governing equations are transformed to a system of linear partial differential equations using appropriate non-dimensional variables. Using Laplace transform method the resulting equations are solved analytically and the expression for velocity, temperature and concentration are obtained. They satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions. Numerical results for temperature and concentration are shown in various graphs for embedded flow parameters and discussed in details.
