Laser scanning does not provide unlimited geometrical accuracy and integrity when scanning complex objects. Scanning systems have a minimum and maximum range in which they operate, depending on the technical characteristics. Scanning below or above these limits results in gross errors and registering of incorrect data. Laser scanners can have difficulties with certain materials such as marble and reflective surfaces. This paper presents the results of laser scanning of a complex monument of cultural and historical heritage using two different types of terrestrial laser scanners. Afterwards, the comparison and analysis of the results are shown. The scanners used were terrestrial laser scanners Faro Focus 3D (phase mode distance measurements) and STONEX X300 (pulse mode distance measurements).

This study shows integration of remote sensing methods and conventional geodetic methods as well as processing and analysis of the results of cadastral land use assessment for the area of cadastral municipality Butmir in Sarajevo. For that purpose high-resolution multi-spectral WorldView-2 satellite images were used, with the object-oriented approach to image classification and image classification algorithm creation. The main objective is to compare the results obtained with the conventional methods of cadastral land evaluation and the results obtained by the methods of remote sensing. The possibilities of methodology development for the assessment of cadastral land use for each individual cadastral parcel have been assessed. Such a methodology would provide updated information on the real estate cadastre, reduce the costs and time of data collection and land use map creation procedure, with the aim to solve problems in economic development of the country, urbanization of the area, development of science and exploration of the land potentials.

This paper presents a basic overview of the historical development of electronic tachymeters, through solutions developed by the German manufacturer Zeiss. This factory is responsible for the first instrument of its kind in the world, which is described with special attention. Subsequently, the possibilities of different tachymeters are illustrated in chronological order, over their three decades of evolution. Finally, an overview on the current state of development and production of Zeiss tachymeters is given, since the plant became an integral part of Trimbles large concern.
