Total Quality Management (TQM) is a vital driver for continuous improvement in an organization for improving their performance. TQM tools are very important in supporting improvement activities. However, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have limited resources and awareness for implementing TQM tools in their organisation. Hence, the purpose of this research is to identify the extent level of TQM tools and to examine the relationship between TQM tools and organisational performance. Research hypotheses were examined while considering twenty TQM tools which considered important in TQM implementation. Random sampling and survey have been used by distributing questionnaire to 200 respondents for final study. The study result shows that the extent level in TQM tools is in high and moderate level. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between TQM tools and organisational performance in SMEs. However, the relationships are in moderate and low level. The study is important for SMEs to gain insight on the effect of TQM practices towards TQM tools in organizational performance and identify the most important tools and techniques for their companies in future implementation.Total Quality Management (TQM) is a vital driver for continuous improvement in an organization for improving their performance. Product innovation’s success at research and development level, does not guarantee that it will lead to the success in commercialization stage. Despite the enormous research efforts, the commercialization rates of product innovation are still at an alarming level in many countries including Malaysia. While collaboration has been acknowledged as pertinent to the success of innovation product commercialization, the collaborative effort between innovation recipient firm and the innovators remains limited. Besides, one of the central questions is how and under what condition the two parties are more likely to engage in a resilient collaborative effort, from the perspective of innovation recipient firms remain unclear. This new perspective requires an understanding of the relationship between collaboration and commercialization performance and the moderating effect of TC from firm’s perspective. Based on the response of 104 product innovation recipient firms, the findings show that collaboration positively aff...

New product design and new product process design are important attributes in order a company to survive and sustain in competitive market. However, many new products which have been developed from research and development cannot compete in world market due to product performance issue. In addition, design of new product is unable to cope with the process design and machine capability in manufacturing process. The aims of this study is to identify the relationship between new product design and new product process design on new product performance in manufacturing industry. Random sampling and survey have been used by distributing questionnaire to 400 respondents for final study. Finally 80 respondents had replied with the respond rate of 20%. The study result shows that the extent level in new product design and new product process design are moderate and high level respectively. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between new product process design and organisational performance (r(80) = 0....

Value stream mapping (VSM) was initially developed to use of the suite of tools to help researcher or practitioner to identify waste in individual value streams and find an appropriate method to its removal. The process itself is simple and straightforward is used to identify waste using lean manufacturing technique, determined causes of the waste through the value stream mapping method and to propose solution to improve workplace environment. In this project is made an attempt to computerize the process though the application of VSM. Computerize value stream system is basically a method which is an internet networking system combining traditional concept of value stream mapping method to be used at manufacturing company to reduce wastes. This paper summarizes the way to develop an internet, online and network based of an efficient computerize value stream system to improve operation value of the manufacturing company. This paper reviews the design of package that will replace the manual method of doing VSM. This package will be applied in a real shop floor environment.
