Batyrkhan Omarov; Aigerim Altayeva; Zharas Suleimenov; Young-Im Cho; Bauyrzhan Omarov

Building energy management is a major topic of research and development, as well as, buildings constitute the substantial amount of energy consumption in the worldwide. Design of an automated controller for energy efficiency operation in the building is one of the main methods to reduce energy consumption by keeping comfort level for inhabitants. In this paper, we introduce an alternative way to save energy by using fuzzy logic based approach. Fuzzy logic has been widely used to simulate energy consumption model and to control heating, ventilation and humidifying devices. Simulation results illustrate the behavior relation of whole system and each control parameter.

Application of multi-agent control systems in energy-efficient intelligent building

Aigerim Altayeva; Batyrkhan Omarov; Zharas Suleimenov; Young Im Cho

The features provide the required comfort multizone buildings by using the power management multiagent system and comforts. This management system covers all controlled areas of the building and, if necessary, ensures the highest possible overall comfort in a building with a decrease in available electric power. The aim of this work is to develop a comfort control system multispectral building.

Smart Building Climate Control Considering Indoor and Outdoor Parameters

Batyrkhan Omarov; Aigerim Altayeva; Young Im Cho

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC systems) account for the majority of the energy used in buildings. Consequently, any business has the potential to realize significant cost savings by improving control of HVAC operations and increase the efficiency of the system it uses. Using a highly efficient HVAC equipment can lead to significant energy and emissions savings. The entire structure of the building in combination with the enhanced comfort zone can produce a much greater savings. Extended comfort includes the use of concepts such as providing a warm, but drier air using a desiccant dehumidification in the summer, or the colder air from the warm walls of windows and warm in winter. In addition, high efficiency HVAC can provide enhanced thermal comfort for people, as well as to contribute to the improvement of environmental quality in the room. The paper explores thermal process and the affecting parameters, and introduce fuzzy logic based energy consumption model based on controlling of HVAC devices.

Development of Query Transformation Method by Cost Optimization

Aigerim Altayeva; Youngmi Yoon; Young Im Cho

The transformation time among queries in the database management system (DBMS) is responsible for the execution time of users’ queries, because a conventional DBMS does not consider the transformation cost when queries are transformed for execution. To reduce the transformation time (cost reduction) during execution, we propose an optimal query transformation method by exploring queries from a cost-based point of view. This cost-based point of view means considering the cost whenever queries are transformed for execution. Toward that end, we explore and compare set off heuristic, linear, and exhaustive costbased transformations. Further, we describe practical methods of cost-based transformation integration and some query transformation problems. Our results show that, some cost-based transformations significantly improve query execution time. For instance, linear and heuristic transformed queries work 43% and 74% better than exhaustive queries.

Intelligent Microclimate Control System Based on IoT

Aigerim Altayeva; Batyrkhan Omarov; Young Im Cho

The present research paper is devoted to solving an urgent problem, i.e., the energy saving and energy efficiency of buildings. A rapid settlement method and experimental control of the energy conservation based on the specific characteristics of the thermal energy consumption for the heating and ventilation of the buildings, and as well as the rapid development of wireless sensor networks, can be used in a variety of monitoring parameters in our daily lives. Today’s world has become quite advanced with smart appliances and devices such as laptops, tablets, TVs, and smartphones with various functions, and their use has increased significantly in our day-to-day lives. In this case, the most important role is played by a wireless sensor network with its development and use in heterogeneous areas and in several different contexts. The fields of home automation, process management, and health management systems make extensive use of wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we explore the main factors of the microclimate in an indoor environment. We control the temperature humidity, and other factors remotely using sensors and Internet-of-Things technologies.

Android-Based E-Board Smart Education Platform Using Digital Pen and Dot Pattern

Young Im Cho; Aigerim Altayeva

In the past, we implemented a web-based smart education platform, but this is not efficient in a smart or mobile education environment. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an Android-based e-board smart platform for a smart or mobile education system. Here, we use Anoto digital pen- and dot pattern-based technologies. This Android-based smart education platform is efficient for a smart education environment. Further, we implement the hardware and software parts of the technologies, an Anoto-based trajectory recognition algorithm, and a probabilistic neural network for handwritten digit and hand gesture recognition.

Comparison of Radio Wave Propagation Models for Mobile Networks

Aigerim Altayeva; Young Im Cho

Heterogeneous cellular networks are gaining momentum in industry and the research community, and are attracting the attention of standard bodies such as 3GPP LTE and IEEE 802.16j, whose objectives are to increase the capacity and coverage of cellular networks. In this article, we provide an overview of expansion strategies, optimal locations of base stations with different characteristics, and radio-planning models.
