This study examines the impact of work-family conflict on decision making styles of faculty members in higher education sector of Pakistan. Study also highlights the moderating role of decisional intelligence (a part of emotional intelligence) in predicting the relationship among work-family conflict and decision making styles. Two hypotheses are generated for the present research work including; (i) work-family conflict has significant impact on the decision making styles of faculty members; and, (ii) decisional intelligence moderates the relationship between work-family conflict and decision making styles of faculty members. Questionnaire method is utilized to collect data from the sample of 352 faculty members employed in federal chartered universities of Pakistan. Results for H\(_{1}\) suggest that work-family conflict negatively predicts rational and intuitive decision making; and, positively predicts avoidant and spontaneous decision making styles while no association is found with dependent decision making style. Results for H\(_{2}\) suggest that decisional intelligence moderates the relationship among work-family conflict, rational, intuitive and dependent decision making styles. This research work describes both academic and professional issues and its findings can be comprehensively utilized for the betterment of higher education sector of Pakistan.

This study deals with describing and analyzing the Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) in Pakistan.1 Its main objective is to elucidate some of the subtle obstacles that hindered the project from reaching its full potential. In this regard, formulation, implementation and evaluation of different development programmes at gross-root level are discussed. Therein, certain managerial issues, such as participation at gross-root level, coordination, cooperation, motivation, commitment, self-help, delivery of services at rural areas, political intervention and bureaucratic hurdles, are brought at forefront by citing few examples in which challenges have been faced more prominently and which can be used for classroom discussion. One of the critical obstacles relevant to the understanding of this programme, as many others, involves a focus on the sociology of decision-making. It is hoped that the case study would facilitate the readers to have an understanding of the rural development process in Pakistan at a micro level.

For the first time, the difference between the thermal parameters of metal and nonmetal ions has been positively established by high-resolution neutron diffraction measurements on a powder sample of TiN. Measurements were made on a double- as well as triple-axis neutron spectrometer. The data were analysed by the Rietveld method. The refined occupancy factor indicated a chemical composition of TiN0.95 (1). The values of the individual temperature factors were BTi = 0.209 (13) A2 and BN = 0.271 (7) A2. The results of the present investigation are compared with the values obtained by X-ray and neutron diffraction techniques.
