Neem in Oral Diseases-An Update

Herbal Medicines are a fast emerging trend in recent times, as they provide safer, effcective and economical treatment to patients. Azadirachta indica (neem) has been an integral part of health and oral care since times immemorial. It has shown to be an effective antimicrobial, antinflammatory and anticancer agent. In india it has been an indespensible part of oral care and is still a popular dental care agent in rural india. Incorporation of neem extract in oral health care products provides a natural solution to oro-dental problems and in maintaining oral health.

Haemangima of buccal mucosa with multile phleboliths-report of 2 rare cases and literature review

Haemangioma is the most common vessel malformation tumour of infancy and childhood. They generally occur in the first month of life. They have a rapid proliferative phase followed by involution. Haemangioma is classified as cutaneous type involving skin, lips and deeper structures, mucosal type involving the lining of the oral cavity, intramuscular type involving masticator and perioral muscles or intraosseous type involving mandible or maxilla. Phleboliths are calcified thrombi that occur in veins, venules and sinusoidal vessels of hemangiomas. Usually they occur as round or oval radio-opacity having single or multiple foci of calcification. We are reporting two cases of haemangioma of buccal mucosa having multiple phleboliths.

Florid Cemento-Osseous Dysplasia-Report of Rare Case

Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia is a rare disease of jaws which is characterized by replacement of bone and connective tissue by cemento-osseous tissue. They are mostly found in middle-aged individuals. They are generally found in tooth-bearing region involving two or more quadrants. Radiographically, these lesions appear as multiple sclerotic masses confined within the alveolar bone. Herein we present a rare case of florid cemento-osseous dysplasia involving maxilla and mandible.

Epithelial myoepithelial carcinoma of parotid gland-a case report

Epithelial-Myoepithelial Carcinoma is a rare malignant salivary gland neoplasm. It is also known as adenomyoepithelioma. It accounts for less than 1% of all salivary gland neoplasms. This unusual salivary gland tumors is first described by Donath et al in 1972. This tumor occurs in sixth decade and beyond having a female predominance. Parotid gland is the most commonly involved followed by submandibular gland and palate. Herein we are presenting a rare case of Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma of parotid gland.
