QoS-based joint power and resource allocation with Adaptive Modulation and Coding for OFDMA femtocell networks

Rima Hatoum; Abbas Antoun Hatoum; Alaa Ghaith; Guy Pujolle

Recently, LTE-based femtocell system has received significant attention as a promising solution offering high-speed services, enhanced indoor coverage and increased system capacity. Intelligently allocate resources in multi-user OFDMA-based network is the substantial aim towards interference mitigation and enhancing power and spectral efficiencies. In this paper, we propose a downlink joint resource allocation with Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) technique for such system, namely AMC-QRAP. The proposal core is adjusting the transmission link to the channel status and users demand through the power control and suitable selection of the modulation/coding scheme. Clustered network is adopted and users differentiation is considered providing Quality of Service (QoS) in the network. Our resolution model is solved as an optimization problem using the linear programming. We show through extensive simulations the outperformance of our method compare to different state-of-the-art methods using different evaluation metrics.

The LTE-based femtocell network is a promising solution adopted today to cope with the huge cellular traffic requirements. In particular, the Uplink communication becomes an attractive issue especially with the emerging of the interactive services and large uploaded data volume. Intelligent allocation of the resources and interference management are the main challenges in such context. In this paper, we propose a linear optimization model for the SC-FDMA Uplink transmission aiming to adaptively allocate resources with respect to the link quality. Both power and modulation and coding schemes are independently assigned to each user over each allocated sub-channel. The cluster architecture is adopted as a hybrid centralized/distributed network. The user differentiation strategy ensures the QoS guarantee with respect to a priority level of each user. Taking into account the specifications of the uplink communication, we confirm through comparative simulations the outperformance of our proposal considering several metrics such as throughput satisfaction rate, transmitted power, outage probability, special spectrum reuse and others.

Nowadays, LTE-based femtocell technology is a promising solution offering high-speed services, enhanced indoor coverage and increased system capacity. In such multi-user wireless communication systems, intelligently allocating resources is the substantial aim towards interference mitigation and enhancing power and spectral efficiencies. In this paper, we propose a joint power and channel allocation with Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) technique for downlink OFDMA-based LTE system, namely AMC-QRAP. As trade-off between distributed and centralized architectures, we consider a clustered network architecture. Users differentiation is taken into account to ensure Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee where premium High Priority HP users and best effort BE users are served by the network. Our allocation problem is resolved as an optimization model using linear programming. Extensive simulations prove that our proposal outperforms different techniques in the literature and considerably improve two previously proposed methods QP-FCRA and Q-FCRA. We consider different metrics for performance evaluation such as spectral efficiency, throughput satisfaction rate, user outage and transmission power.

An automatic approach to blindly detect bandwidth edges based on the wavelet transform

Rima Hatoum; Alaa Ghaith; Guy Pujolle

Edges Detection is a significant task in many fields of application. Some signal features can be reflected by their discontinuous structure. In general, a mathematical signal transform carries more features than a raw signal. Thus, for analyzing an intercepted signal in a totally blind environment, one can benefit from the information the signal spectrum offers through the Fourier Transform. After sensing the spectrum, the characteristics extraction method must be applied. In this paper, the Wavelet Transform is used, as it exhibits excellent ability to analyze a signal. Also introduced in this paper is an improved algorithm that automatically identifies bandwidth signal boundaries in a determined frequency range. The proposed algorithm is based on the local maxima of the Wavelet Transform modulus. In blind conditions and in a noisy environment, this approach grants good performance.

MULTI-LEVEL CODING AND MULTI-STAGE DECODING FOR MODULATIONS WITH HEXAGONAL CONSTELLATION

This research theme is the impact of the proactive transfer of motor learning between handball and basketball; carry out of the first year of secondary school pupils (15-17 years) of high school IdrisSenouci of Mostaganem city (Algeria). This study aimed to show the existence of a reciprocal proactive transfer of motor learning in the subsequent practice between handball and basketball in the direction of basketball to handball. For this, I hypothesized that there is a reciprocal proactive transfer motor learning engine between handball and basketball in favour of the sense of basketball to handball. To realize this study, I selected a systematic sample of 184 pupils’ boys and girls representing 36.44% of the population retort on four groups, two experimental and two controls to compare their results. And in order to measure the impact of reciprocal proactive transfer of motor learning between handball and basketball, I have conceived an experience based on the experimental protocol of Schmidt (1975) which compares between the performances of an experimental group to those of the control group. Thus, and after analyzing the results of the experiment, it is proved that the proactive transfer of motor learning was embodied in the sense of basketball to handball depending on three statistical means that are the T Students, the percentage of development, and the transfer index of Murdock.

Paper Retracted - TERNARY BASED CONVOLUTIONAL ENCODER FOR TERNARY AND HEXAGONAL MODULATIONS

Alaa Ghaith; Ali Alaeddine

Acidified and non acidified samples of wastewaters from the Etoudi’s slaughterhouse (Yaounde, Cameroon) were analyzed before and after having been exposed to an electric discharge in a cold plasma reactor at different exposure times. Analyses reveal that untreated and non acidified wastewaters (pH = 7.8) contain 230.4 mgL-1 of phosphate (PO4 3-) and 479.6 mgL-1 of nitrate (NO3 -) ions. Exposure of these wastewaters to the gliding discharge (“glidarc”) operated in humid air induces PO4 3- and NO3 - concentrations abatement by 41.55% for phosphates and 86.24% for nitrates within 20 min of exposure for a gas flow rate of 800 Lh-1,which confirms the efficiency of the glidarc treatment in humid air in case of waste treatments. On the other hand, exposure of acidified wastewaters (pH = 2.2) to the glidarc in the same conditions showed that PO4 3- andNO3 - concentrations increase with exposure time; this result is in conformity with oxidation phenomena induced by the glidarc and previously presented by several authors. From these results the efficiency of the “glidarc” technique in degrading phosphates and nitrates in basic medium was proven.
