Finite-temperature HFB theory

Abstract The finite-temperature Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (FTHFB) equations are derived. For the pairing hamiltonian FTHFB simplifies to finite-temperature BCS (FTBCS). The solution of the FTBCS equations for the degenerate model displays a temperature-dependent pairing “phase transition”.
