The interactivity of internet 2.0 and conversations arising in the virtual environment social networks can be considered as representative of the average opinion of citizens and tourists, and analysis thereof, therefore, constitutes a valid tool with a view to exploration. We consider the fact that the constant presence of discourses relating to the heritage of certain destinations, the island of Tenerife and Fuerteventura in this case, can be used as an indicator of the achievement of objectives in the reorientation of heritage-based tourism. The text analyses discourses relating to cultural and natural heritage of Tenerife and Fuerteventura in the social network Facebook. We performed a qualitative analysis of the recorded comments, photographs and videos in an attempt to study themes such as the relevance of heritage in the image shared through this medium in connection with the potential tourists, the type of heritage promoted and the differences among users according to the references to heritage elements in their discourses.

The present paper focuses on the presentation of a transdisciplinar methodology of analysis of the ‘vertical connectivity’ (human society-landscape interaction) that is being developed with the collaboration of the different teams participating in the study for the elaboration of the Natural Resources Planning for the proposal of creation of a National Park in the island of Fuerteventura. The proceeding tries to es¬ta¬blish by a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques the formal rela¬tion between cartesian landscape and socioeconomy with the aim of explaining the im¬pli¬cations of the actual socioeconomic changes in the maintenance of landscape. Fuerteventura’s economy is heavily dependent on tourism, and precisely because of that, it is having rapid socioeconomic changes. The proceeding has not been totally realized yet in this context, but will be exposed a part of the results obtained so far on the analysis of the socioeconomic characteristics of Fuerteventura.

Renewal Strategies for mature destinations are diverse. In the case Fuerteventura, local governments have begun a renewal and singling process through the commitment by the activation of different forms of heritage and some changes in the island projected image, introducing certain attributes that had not been inserted clearly in the tourist speeches. These processes involve dynamic in which new meanings are not always taken into account the different ways of thinking about territory by residents of the destination. This work focuses on the perception of the three major groups of land users in question (native people, residents and tourists) about different environmental protection proposals, on the assumption that they will be significantly different because their particular degree of involvement with the island.
