Announcement has been made of the appointment of C. H. Sorum of the University of Wisconsin to represent the AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY on the AAAS Cooperative Committee on Science Teaching. Many members may not be familiar with the excellent work carried on by this committee and interestingly described in Science for July 11, pages 28 to 30. The Cooperative Committee was created in 1941 by representatives of the following scientific societies: American Association of Physics Teachers, Union of Biological Societies, Mathematical Association of America, AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY (B. S. Hopkins, University of Illinois, and Martin V. McGill, Lorain High School, Lorain, Ohio, representatives), and National Association for Research in Science Teaching.
