The phenomenon of fluorescence in immunosensors

Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska

The phenomenon of fluorescence in immunosensors is described in this paper. Both structure and characteristics of biosensors and immunosensors are presented. Types of immunosensors and the response of bioreceptor layers to the reaction with analytes as well as measurements of electrochemical, piezoelectric and optical parameters in immunosensors are also presented. In addition, detection techniques used in studies of optical immunosensors based on light-matter interactions (absorbance, reflectance, dispersion, emission) such as: UV/VIS spectroscopy, reflectometric interference spectroscopy (RIfs), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), optical waveguide light-mode spectroscopy (OWLS), fluorescence spectroscopy. The phenomenon of fluorescence in immunosensors and standard configurations of immunoreactions between an antigen and an antibody (direct, competitive, sandwich, displacement) is described. Fluorescence parameters taken into account in analyses and fluorescence detection techniques used in research of immunosensors are presented. Examples of immunosensor applications are given.

This paper presents a data mining technique for qualitative analysis of Hodgkin-Huxley model of cell excitability. Such problem cannot be solved analytically. Therefore we apply Monte-Carlo techniques for the generation of model parameters, and use data mining algorithm for classification of learning tuples obtained. As a result we attain a decision tree capable of classifying the excitability depending on the relationship between initial conditions and between rate constants. Details of software development and issues of computational complexity are presented. The software includes the package of Java-classes. An example for classification of excitability of three types is presented.

The tupel model of basic components' set formation for cyberattacks

Anna Korchenko; Kornel Warwas; Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska

The unauthorized access to information systems resources, for instants cyberattacks, can impact on its surrounding area, causing the certain anomalies. Mostly this area is not formalizing and not clearly defined. To detect cyberattacks required specialized tools, which make it possible using a set of specific features. One of the approaches to solving this task is based on using corresponding models, methods and intrusion detection systems based on fuzzy sets focused on processing of semistructured data with a purpose to establish the facts of unauthorized access to information systems resources. In this work proposed, based on a tuple model, the formalization approach to build up the necessary dataset component, which are used to control the status of cyberspace parameters at a given time in a fuzzy conditions. This approach gives a possibility to identify the abnormal state generated by the action of the relevant cyberattacks class.

Network Electronic Devices Authentication by Internal Electrical Noise

Elena Nyemkova; Zynovii Shandra; Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska; Łukasz Więcław

The article is devoted to dynamic authentication method of electronic network devices with built-in analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) based on authentication templates. The following results were obtained: the authentication of each electronic device can be carried out uniquely by its internal electrical noise (like biometric authentication of a person). Uniqueness of authentication is provided by the invariants of the noise signal such as the shape of the graph of the autocorrelation function of noise and the set of resonance frequencies of the device. The electronic device authentication template is obtained from the sequence of values of the autocorrelation function of the noise. It consists from the bit template and the amplitude template. The technique of obtaining an authentication template is presented. The required duration of the noise signal is 0.5 s for reliable authentication at a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz. The results of authentication of several computers are presented.

On Investigation of Stability and Bifurcation of Neural Network with Discrete and Distributed Delays

V. P. Martsenyuk; Igor Ye. Andrushchak; Andrii Sverstiuk; Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska

Paper presents our results dealing with qualitative investigation of neural network including discrete and distributed time delays. We use indirect method to get exponential decay rates of the model. Dynamic behavior is also investigated numerically when changing model parameters. As a result we get point attractors which transit to periodic ones when increasing absolute values of parameters.

Increasing speed of genetic algorithm-based instance selection

Mirosław Kordos; Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska

We discuss several ways to accelerate genetic algorithm-based instance selection, where the two objectives are a minimal number of training instances and maximal accuracy of the classifier (we use neural networks) on the test data. We discuss several ways to accelerate the process, but we especially focus on two parameters: fitness function and chromosome length reduction. We evaluate different fitness functions, discuss their performance and propose the guidance for choosing the optimal one in respect to the process speed and stability. We also discuss the possibility of reducing the chromosome length during the optimization by excluding from further optimization these positions that are unlikely to change. We verify our method experimentally as well on several real-world datasets.

Volodymyr Pohrebennyk; Natalia Bernatska; Pawel Falat; Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska; Karina Janisz; Krzysztof Sulkowski; Krzysztof Augustynek

There has been investigated the effectiveness of fermentation industry sewage waters clearing by means of ultrasound. There has been established that the necessary quality indicators of water are received in as little as an hour of acoustic cavitation activity. While preserving the water, processed by the ultrasound, the meaning of the chemical use of oxygen remained the same during 2 weeks. After the ultrasound processing, there is observed a post-effect of cavitation activity, which lies in the reduction of the amount of microorganisms in the volume unit and chemical use of oxygen. The expansion in the number of microorganisms began only in 24 hours.

Teresa Rajba; Aleksandra Klos-Witkowska; Stepan Ivasiev; Igor Yakymenko; Mykhailo Kasianchuk

The method for finding inverse element by the module is based on the stepwise addition of residue is developed in this paper. This method allows avoiding performing the complex arithmetic operations and implementing calculations on numbers much lower bit compared to the classical approach based on the Euclids algorithm and its consequences. Analytical expressions of time complexity characteristics are obtained and their graphic depending is built. Software and hardware modules of specified methods on the basis of environment of the development AldecActive-HDL 9.1 are implemented and studies of their temporal characteristics that point to the advantages of the proposed method are conducted.
