Two types of novel split ring resonator (SRR) loaded rectangular waveguide bandstop filter structures have been presented. The first proposed SRR-loaded waveguide bandstop filter has been designed simulated and tested. Using the combination of the split ring resonators, conductive wireline and transversely placed metal septa, the composite material has been built and inserted into the hollow rectangular waveguide to form an SRR-loaded waveguide unit. The bandstop filter has been constructed by cascade of the two resonator unit cells. The second proposed multilayer SRR loaded waveguide bandstop filter has been designed and simulated. Three transverse periodic SRRs are present on either side of the dielectric blocks

A novel compact waveguide resonator in planar form with EBG is presented in this paper. Dielectric-filled rectangular waveguide is fitted with periodical arrays of metal plates at its top and bottom surfaces. Periodic resonators are designed and simulated with a resonant frequency of 2.4 GHz. Proposed structures are compact and perform a higher Q factor than their conventional waveguide planar counterparts. This is achieved by alternation of electromagnetic properties of the waveguide. A novel compact EBG-substrate bandpass filter in planar form demonstrates feasibility of the proposed resonators.

This paper investigates novel class of E-plane metawaveguide resonator and filter structures for use at X-band, mm-wave, submm-wave and terahertz frequencies. It aims to show that this type of resonator can be easily realized with a single metalo-dielectric insert within rectangular waveguide. The simulated results for air-filled metal pipe half-wavelength rectangular waveguide resonator and resonator structure using S-shaped SRR at 9.45 GHz, 57 GHz and 65 GHz are presented. Experimental results at 9.45 GHz validate the argument for the other cases.

The paper observes microwave waveguide resonators in planar form and proposes a design for obtaining low-cost devices in planar form that are suitable for mass fabrication. Periodic resonators at 3.6 GHz are designed and simulated using this technique, which represents the advantages of this technology, resulting in the reduced size, cost and compactness of these components, while maintaining an easy fabrication process. This is achieved due to the configuration that holds both the microstrip and the rectangular waveguide interconnected by a simple taper on the same substrate.

This article presents a new technique that uses the auxiliary sources for investigation of structures including nonlinear components. The proposed technique is implemented in the iterative method to model two transistors (MESFET and INGFET) and an MMIC amplifier. The numerical results are compared with published data and a good agreement is observed.

This paper demonstrates the bandwidth improvement of a multiplexer overcoming the limitations imposed by the poor stopband performance of standard waveguide E-plane filters. Bandwidth improvement is achieved introducing integrated compact ridge waveguide filter in the multiplexer. A four-channel X-band ridged waveguide manifold multiplexer is used as an example. Electromagnetic modelling of the multiplexer and experimental verification of an integrated ridge waveguide filter are presented.

The paper observes the algorithm of the BWA design on the base of stated task of multistage optimization. The software employment is presented with simulation of a one-layer and two-layer structure of BW. Advantages of the two-layer structure are shown and the optimal parameters being entry requirements for the following design stages are determined.
