Optimization of Transport Movement Parameters of the Transfer Manipulator for the Quenching Bath According to the Technological Process Requirements

Kastytis Slivinskas; Vladimir Gichan; Vytautas Striška; Algimantas Juozas Poška

The paper analyzes problems related to optimal selection and possible control of parameters of transport movements of the manipulator serving galvanizing and quenching baths. Evaluation of the acceleration and braking processes as well as minimization of the deflection during oscillations of the suspended loading are considered. Mathematical models of the transfer manipulator together with the loading unit were developed, which enable dynamic evaluation of transporting movements. Calculations of the dynamics of the model and simulations of the transfer process were performed. The obtained research results allow to improve the quality of the processing and reduce the emission of pollutions.

Braking of the Linear Multipositional Electric Catapult

Bronius Karaliunas; Algimantas Juozas Poška

This paper investigates the issues on modern automated flexible operations. The specified requirements have to be satisfied when operating flexible manufacturing systems. The multiinducting linear drives with immobile inductors and a short moving secondary unit could assist the solution of the problem. The functional scheme and structure of the mentioned above system is developed in this paper. The drive is composed of few linear induction motor inductors with a short secondary unit moving between them from one position to another. The procedure of braking of the unit has hardly ever been studied in the scientific research works. The method of spectral analysis is applied for the investigation of the braking procedures. The findings regarding the spectral characteristics of the density of the current of braking are defined.

Valve Linear Electric Drives

Algimantas Juozas Poška

In the paper there is based an idea of investigating of linear electric motors and drives by methods of system engineering. There is presented the structure of investigation stages, analysed aspects of working out the new systems. It is proved that linear electric motors and drives must be investigated as class because the every linear motor is carried out for proper servomechanism and it is not necessary to carry out wide gammas of that. Method of investigation of a class of linear electric motors is illustrated by example of researching of influence of edge effect on the linear electric drives with different combination of parameters. There is presented the methodics to calculate the characteristics of linear valve drive. There are discussed the problems of working out and application of linear electric drives as well as electronic sensors. There are considered the problems of application of linear electric drives for electric catapult, pneumotransport, flexible system of treatment of fur, system for control of high-voltage circuit-breaker, automatic system of search and shunting of faulted phase and automatic system of dust explosions localisation.

Properties of Linear Induction Drive of Actuating Systems

Algimantas Juozas Poška; Roma Rinkeviciene; Z. Savickiene

Article deals with small power low speed linear induction drives of actuating systems. It is proved that current of these linear induction motors (LIM) does not depend on slip, transients of current are short and dynamical amplitudes are small. There are presented expressions, allowing to calculate the steady state and dynamic characteristics when the drive is controlled by changing supply voltage frequency.

Electric Multi-Module Catapult Dynamics

S. Lisauskas; Algimantas Juozas Poška; Donatas Uznys

Electric catapults can be used for automatic information storage in radioactive environment. Dynamics of a transport system with the potential of route flexibility was investigated. This system is made up of stand-alone modules, therefore further expansion is possible. Modules consist of mechanical part (rails for the cart), electrical part (inductor of a linear induction motor (LIM) and electromagnetic brake) and electronic part (thyristor commutator). Cargo cart is mounted on the LIM’s secondary unit that can be catapulted from any station (module) to another. First LIM’s inductor starts the secondary, ejects it out of primary’s range. Inertia of the cart allows it to reach the next station which in turn can either accelerate it or stop it. Position detectors (Hall effect sensors) are used for estimating cart movement. Electromagnetic brakes are used as dynamic braking is not effective in this case. A computer model was designed and various operating modes are simulated (upon non-zero initial conditions).

Comparable Parameters of Small Power Linear Induction Drives

Z. Savickienė; Algimantas Juozas Poška; Alvydas Slepikas

Parameters of some small power linear induction drives are investigated and compared in this article. These drives have beencreated and introduced into production in small and medium quantities by specialists of Automatics department in Vilnius GediminasTechnical University, have flat or cylindrical construction, designed for short time working mode. The investigated parameters are:phase current density of inductor, relative active power, power coefficient, asymmetry of phase currents, indices of transitionalprocesses. These results can be used in a new short time working linear induction drive design. Ill. 8, bibl. 7 (in Lithuanian; Summariesin Lithuanian, English and Russian).

Roma Rinkeviciene; Algimantas Juozas Poška; Alvydas Slepikas

The problem of dust explosion in corn processing enterprises is analyzed. System for localizing of dust explosions with dampers driven by linear induction motors (LIM) is considered. The paper presents the developed mathematical and computer models of a damper drive together with results of simulations.

Mechatronic Systems with Linear Induction Motors of Dampers

Algimantas Juozas Poška; A. Smilgevičius; R. Rinkevičienė

The purpose of the paper is, from the view of system engineering, to investigate mechatronic systems with uncontrolled or pulse controlled dampers that are equipped with a linear induction motor (LIM), the secondary element of which appears as a moving element of a damper. The main technological parameters determining the requirements for linear induction drives applied in the automatic protection and technological process control systems were investigated. Methods to investigate electromagnetic, electromechanical and thermal dynamic processes at pulse control of large cross-area dampers were proposed, and application of results of the investigation was considered.

Analysis of the possibilities of the usage of electrical synchronous link for a CNC gear hobbing machine

Kastytis Slivinskas; V. Gičan; Algimantas Juozas Poška; Vytautas Kazimieras Augustaitis

The method of creating the dynamical model of the CNC gear hobbing machine and for its analyzing is presented in this paper. The model comprises detail mechanical parts of the hob spindle and work spindle axes, their electrical counterparts, linking, and allows one to investigate dynamic characteristics of the machine and to simulate processes, which take place during gear hobbing. The article also presents the simulation diagram, introducing these axes and the third axis, which help to model the cutting process. It also presents results of simulation of processes during hobbing and amplitude-frequency characteristics calculated.
