A Novel Energy Efficient Routing Protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks

Ali Norouzi; Faezeh Sadat Babamir; Abdül Halim Zaim

For terrestrial positioning, some applications require three dimensional coordinates. The Dilution of precisions (DOPs) for position systems using range measurement is reviewed and the average values of DOPs for different deployments of base station geometries are examined. It is shown that to obtain the lowest DOPs, the base stations for different types of positioning systems need to be deployed differently. Changing the N-sided regular polygon to an (N – 1)-sided polygon with one base station in the centre of the polygon can decrease the value of DOP in general for a pseudorange time of arrival (TOA) system but not for an absolute range TOA system. The height of the base station in the centre can also change the DOP significantly. The finding can be used to optimize the deployment of the base stations for range measurement positioning systems.

Genetic Algorithm Application in Optimization of Wireless Sensor Networks

Ali Norouzi; A. Halim Zaim

There are several applications known for wireless sensor networks (WSN), and such variety demands improvement of the currently available protocols and the specific parameters. Some notable parameters are lifetime of network and energy consumption for routing which play key role in every application. Genetic algorithm is one of the nonlinear optimization methods and relatively better option thanks to its efficiency for large scale applications and that the final formula can be modified by operators. The present survey tries to exert a comprehensive improvement in all operational stages of a WSN including node placement, network coverage, clustering, and data aggregation and achieve an ideal set of parameters of routing and application based WSN. Using genetic algorithm and based on the results of simulations in NS, a specific fitness function was achieved, optimized, and customized for all the operational stages of WSNs.

Sensor networks are composed of many sensors usually far from the region is available. Routing in wireless sensor networks for the transfer of information from sensor nodes to base station is especially important. Optimum consumption of energy is important requirements in wireless sensor networks because sensor systems typically use battery power. In this paper with a routing algorithm to determine the optimal path of energy consumption viewpoint for information transfer from sensor nodes to base station with the data transmission we have presented multi-skip. In this algorithm when a sensor felt event, the node that was in transmission radius of sensor and it had minimum distance to the main station as next step is selected and send to only one node is selected. Finally, the proposed algorithm compare with Gossiping and LGossiping algorithms as simulation results show the proposed algorithm has better performance.

Faezeh Sadat Babamir; Alireza Hatamizadeh; Seyed Mehrdad Babamir; Mehdi Dabbaghian; Ali Norouzi

One of the major challenge and time-consuming work is optimum test data generation to assure software quality. Researchers have proposed several methods over years to generate automatically solution which have different drawbacks. In this paper, we propose Genetic Algorithm (GA) based tester with different parameters to automate the structural-oriented test data generation on the basis of internal program structure. Our proposed fitness function is intended to traverse paths of the program as more as possible. This integration improves the GA performance in search space exploration and exploitation fields with faster convergence. At last, we present some results according to our experiment which were promising in term of structural coverage and time order.

Notice of Retraction A goal programming model for computation of fuzzy linear regression with least error

Sohrab Abdollahzadeh; Mina Rezaei; Mehdi Dabbaghian; Ali Norouzi

The paper presents a simple method for computation of fuzzy linear regression with fuzzy output and crisp inputs. The proposed method is based of Goal Programming technique and for estimation upper and lower fuzzy bands, two separated linear programming models are applied. The proposed method is minimized the estimation error between observed and estimated values and has better performance in comparison with previous approaches. The performance of the method is evaluated by applying the considered data in the same example of other methods and the results illustrate decreasing in total error.

Sensor networks are composed of many sensorsusually far from the region is available. Routing method inwireless sensor networks to transfer information from sensornodes to base station is especially important. Optimumconsumption of energy is important requirements in wirelesssensor networks because sensor systems typically use batterypower. In this paper, we have presented a routing algorithm todetermine the optimal path of energy consumption viewpointto transfer information from sensor nodes to base station withthe data transmission by multi skip. In this algorithm, performance region is divided to some sectors and there areseveral relay nodes in the each sector. Relay nodes gather datafrom sensor nodes around them and data transfer to the basestation based on the shortest path and minimum skip possiblein two-dimensional coordinates (x, y) to the base station. Atthe end, we have compared the presented algorithm withEESR (Energy Efficient Sensor Routing) algorithm.Simulation results show the optimal performance of presentedalgorithm in energy consumption, delay and number of livenodes.
