The aim of this research is to analyse the instructional leadership behaviour of the principles with the organizational citizenship behaviours of the teachers according to the teachers’ point of view. The research was conducted using relational screening model. Sample of the research includes 365 primary school teachers and 346 secondary school teachers in Konya city centre. The data were collected by “Organizational Leadership Inventory” developed by Tanriogen (2000) and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour Scale adapted to educational organizations by Polat (2007). According to the findings, school principals show a high degree of instructional leadership behaviour and teachers show a high degree of organizational citizenship behaviour. The level of primary school principals’ showing instructional leadership and the level of primary school teachers’ showing organizational citizenship are higher than the ones working in the secondary schools. Instructional leadership behaviour by the school principals positively affect the organizational citizenship behaviour of the teachers. Among the instructional leadership dimensions, only the dimension of developing education and teacher affects organizational citizenship and the other dimensions have no effect. School principals who wish to improve the organizational behaviour of the teachers must be an expert and provide feedback that would ensure occupational development for quality education.

This study aims to develop a School Incivility Scale (SIS) that measures the prevalence of uncivil behaviours at schools. The validity and reliability of the scale were assessed through three different studies. To ensure the structural validity of the scale, the EFA, CFA, item total correlation, and differential feature of items were calculated. The reliability of the scale was assessed through Cronbach alpha and the test repetition method. The analyses showed that the scale had a three-dimensional structure consisting of trivialization, snubbing, and privacy invasion. SIS is a valid and reliable scale that can be used to determine uncivil behaviours at school.

The relative age effect means the differentiation of success on the part of students of the same class because of the difference in their birth months, or the differentiation of success on the part of children of the same group because of maturity but not skills. Students who are identified as gifted are specially educated at centers called Science and Art Center (BILSEM) in addition to education they receive with their peers. This study aims to determine whether the relative age has a role in selection of students for BILSEMs. The data were collected from Konya Science and Art Center in Turkey. In the center, 534 selections were conducted until 2015-2016 academic year. Comparisons were made based on the frequency of birth dates of the registered students, Chi-square Goodness of Fit Test, and monthly and quarterly periods. The test results show that the relative age plays a significant role in selection of students at BILSEMs both on monthly (?² = 57,96, p
