Objectives: To analyze the concept that a health teamwork, acting on the field of palliative care, has about the terminal patient’s autonomy and to identify the attitude of professionals facing the manifestation of that autonomy. Methods: Exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach. 22 members of a palliative care team were interviewed. The data was analyzed using the content analysis methodology. Results: Three different categories were obtained from each professional group (Groups I and II): understanding the autonomy of terminal patients in a palliative care context, reactions of professionals on the daily assistance services, and, limitations of the relationship (autonomy vs. palliative care). Conclusion: Autonomy is an essential component in the palliative care philosophy; it must be able of creating ethical sustainability, applicable to therapeutic projects of terminal patients.ABSTRACT Objectives: To analyze the concept that a health teamwork, acting on the field of palliative care, has about the terminal patient’s autonom yand to identify the attitude of professionals facing the manifestation of that autonomy. This research attends an study with qualitative approach. Its aim were to analyze the nursing concept of autonomy of terminal patients, their attitude face an autonomy of terminal patient demostration and what is the nurse perspective in the presence of autonomy while has being structure in Brazil. This study was fulfilled in palliative care unit of Hospital of Clinics of Uberlandia. For nurses to perceive autonomy as na ethic beginninig of the existence, is a way to change the knowledge, which turns clear the necessity of exchanges in schools to help the services conduct the health team, their problems, their conflicts when patients autonomy does not agree with values believed by the health team.

Sugarcane juice is a very well-known and popular beverage in Brazil, and provided it is properly exploited, it has a high market potential. The aim of this research was to evaluate the physicochemical, microbiological and sensory stability of pure sugarcane juice and mixed with fresh lemon and pineapple juice, subjected to a heat treatment (70 °C/25 min) and/or gamma radiation (2.5 kGy) and stored in high density polyethylene bottles. The data were evaluated by variance analysis and their mean values compared by Tukeys test. Processing of the sugarcane juice reduced the microorganism load without significantly altering the physicochemical composition, aroma and flavor of the beverages in comparison with the control. Luminosity was higher in the product subjected to the heat treatment combined with gamma radiation than that resulting from the other treatments. The polyphenol oxidase activity in the processed beverages was significantly lower than in the control. The addition of fruit juice to the sugarcane juice did not modify the latters physicochemical composition. However, the addition of 10% pineapple juice to the sugarcane juice increased the manganese and reduced sugars content when compared with pure sugarcane juice and with sugarcane juice mixed with 4% lemon juice.
