A model for measuring e-learning systems success in universities

Alireza Hassanzadeh; Fatemeh Kanaani; Shaban Elahi

In the era of internet, universities and higher education institutions are increasingly tend to provide e-learning. For suitable planning and more enjoying the benefits of this educational approach, a model for measuring success of e-learning systems is essential. So in this paper, we try to survey and present a model for measuring success of e-learning systems in universities. For this purpose, at first, according to literature review, a conceptual model was designed. Then, based on opinions of 33 experts, and assessing their suggestions, research indicators were finalized. After that, to examine the relationships between components and finalize the proposed model, a case study was done in 5 universities: Amir Kabir University, Tehran University, Shahid Beheshti University, Iran University of Science & Technology and Khaje Nasir Toosi University of Technology. Finally, by analyzing questionnaires completed by 369 instructors, students and alumni, which were e-learning systems user, the final model (MELSS Model).

A framework for evaluating electronic commerce adoption in Iranian companies

Shaaban Elahi; Alireza Hassanzadeh

In order to acquire the numerous advantages of electronic commerce, issue of evaluating electronic commerce adoption has its own importance. For this purpose, based on the scientific research and literature reviews, technical, organizational and inter-organizational are identified as the three dimensions for evaluating electronic commerce adoption of the companies. Thereafter, expert viewpoints were put forward about criteria and indicators in each of the above-mentioned dimensions. On the basis of identified indicators and criteria, a framework was developed for evaluating the electronic commerce adoption in Iranian companies. Furthermore in this research, the framework is tested in 27 Iranian companies. The result indicates that there is a significant positive relationship between degree of electronic commerce adoption and stages of electronic commerce development in the companies. Based on the findings and test of the framework, it will present necessary guidelines for evaluating electronic commerce adoption.

Developing a framework for evaluating service oriented architecture governance (SOAG)

Alireza Hassanzadeh; Leila Namdarian; Sha’ban Elahi

Today, service oriented architecture (SOA) has created the opportunities to improve agility and speed in aligning business needs with information technology infrastructure. Most of the organizations in the process of applying this technology encounter with challenges and may have failure despite of spending a lot of energy and huge investments. Therefore they need to implement a service oriented framework for governance. The organizations require a framework to assess their current status of SOA governance, determine their SOA governance requirements and then offer a suitable model for their SOA governance. The aim of this study is development of a framework for evaluating SOA governance. Data collection tool is questionnaire and in order to test the proposed framework, a sample of 16 experts in the field of SOA was included. The results confirm the proposed framework. Then in order to evaluation of the confirmed framework; it was implemented in an Iranian private bank.

Developing a model to evaluate the impacts of science, technology and innovation foresight on policy-making

Alireza Hassanzadeh; Leila Namdarian; Mehdi Majidpour; Shaban Elahi

Technology foresight as a policy intelligence tool can offer vital inputs for policy-making in various domains. The relationship between foresight and policy-making has been presented in the literature by the policy-related functions of foresight, but the literature reflects a theoretical gap with the systematic evaluation model for the impact of foresight on policy-making. This research seeks to bridge the existing gap and uses the mixed method for this purpose. The mixed method approach used in this paper is the sequential exploratory design. First, the conceptual model is developed in the qualitative part of this research by using meta-synthesis and constant comparative method (CCM) of analysis. Second, in the quantitative part, quantitative tests are used to evaluate the dimensions and components of the developed theoretical model. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. The results confirm the proposed dimensions of the evaluation model.

Technology foresight as a policy intelligence tool, can offer vital inputs for policy-making in various domains. The relationship between foresight and policy-making has been presented in the literature by the policy-related functions of foresight, but the literature reflects a theoretical gap with the systematic evaluation of the impact of foresight on policy-making. So this study tries to bridge the existing gap by development an evaluation model. The data collection tool is a questionnaire and in order to test the proposed model; a sample of fifteen experts is included. In this article a case study is conducted to implement the confirmed model in the real word and Partial Least Squares (PLSs) path analysis is used to advance our understanding of the relationships and the structure of the proposed model. The results confirm the proposed dimensions of the model and provide insight for those who are concerned with this topic.

A comprehensive framework for cloud computing migration using Meta-synthesis approach

Hamid reza Bazi; Alireza Hassanzadeh; Ali Moeini

Abstract Migration to the cloud computing environment is a strategic organizational decision. Using a reliable framework for migration ensures managers to mitigate risks in the cloud computing technology. Therefore, organizations always search for cloud migration frameworks with dynamic nature as well as integrity beside their simplicity. In previous studies, these important features have received less attention and have not been achieved in an integrated and comprehensive way. The aim of this study is to use a meta-synthesis method for the first time for analysis and synthesis of previous published studies and suggests a comprehensive cloud migration framework. We review more than 657 papers from relevant journals and conference proceedings. The concepts which are extracted from these papers are classified to related sub-categories and categories. Then, our proposed framework based on these concepts and categories is developed. It includes seven main phases (categories) and fifteen sub-categories. To improve the migration process a maturity model called “ClM3” is introduced. Finally, proposed framework and maturity model is evaluated by forming different focus group meetings and taking advantages of the cloud experts’ opinion. The results of this research can help managers have a safe and effective migration to cloud computing environment.

Sepehr Ghazinoory; Ammar Ali Ali; Alireza Hassanzadeh; Mehdi Majidpour

Because of importance of technological learning for less developed countries, the notion has received increasing attention of scholars. The purpose of this paper is to investigate technological learning systematically by assessing the effect of technology transfer actors on technological learning in less developed countries context.,The paper presents assessment model by adopting technological learning concept based on technology absorption and incremental innovation at firm level and identifying key roles of technology transfer actors (State – Scientific and technological infrastructure – Industry) that affect technological learning. The paper follows survey as research methodology. Thus, a questionnaire was addressed to 33 Syrian textile factories to examine the assessment model. Simple linear, multiple linear and ordinal regression analyses are preformed to examine relationships of model components.,The regression models show notable ability of technology transfer actors to explain technological behavior of firms to accumulate operative capability and consequently to generate passive incremental innovation. The findings indicate passive technical change system of Syrian textile industry. Therefore, goal-oriented evaluation of actual technology policy is preliminary step for achieving improvements, as well as activating scientific and technological infrastructure role by enabling strong relationships with industry and supporting interactions of domestic firms of textile industry and with foreign players.,The paper enriches technological learning literature by proposing systematic approach that sets the nature of technical change process of less developed countries in core of analysis. Moreover, it provides a guide for technological learning practices at firm level and for policymakers based on assessing actual status of Syrian textile industry.
