A review of flood management governance framework in malaysia and selected countries

Malaysia experienced flood on a regular basis due to the geographical location of the country and the improper development of its cities. Based on this situation, it is recognized that Malaysia have to establish an effective flood management (FM) practice in order to reduce the impact caused by flood. This article seeks to examine the proper governance framework needed in managing flood. The aim of this paper is to, namely: identify the current governance structure in several selected countries and identify the challenges associated with the structure. Results from this comparative study will be used in recommending the best form of a FM framework.

Establishing IT Governance Using CMMi - A Case Study of Malaysian Private University

A study was performed on an IT function of a private university in Malaysia and this paper aims to assess the initiatives to adopt and implement ICT governance using Capability-Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Framework. The goal of the initiative was to perform gap analysis and improve the organizations service delivery process in order to be able to reach Level 2 on the CMMI framework. Key people from chosen department were interviewed and assessment using specific framework was conducted. From the result of the research, it suggests that CMMi Framework can be adopted in a university setting in order to achieve higher levels of control and performance while delivering operational excellence.
