One hundred and seventy-eight records of Aphyllophorales were found in URM. One hundred and sixty-nine were revised between September 2006 and May 2007, and represented eight families, 23 genera and 35 species. Polyporaceae had the highest number of species and genera. Ganoderma colossus (Fr.) C. F. Baker, G. orbiforme (Fr.) Ryvarden, Lenzites betulina (L.) Fr. and Panus tephroleucus (Mont.) T. W. May & A. E. Wood are new records to the Amazonian region.

Coltricia globispora sp. nov. is described as new based on specimens collected in the Parque Natural Municipal de Porto Velho, in the state of Rondônia, Brazilian Amazonia. It is characterized by small pores (7–8 per mm), monomitic hyphal system, and globose, smooth and guttulate basidiospores (5.5–6.6 (−7) μm). Phellinus griseoporus has been found for the first time in Brazil, and Cyclomyces iodinus, P. merrillii, P. membranaceus and P. umbrinellus in the Brazilian Amazonia. Coltricia cinnamomea, P. calcitratus and Phylloporia chrysites are new occurrences to the state Rondônia, while C. hamata and Phylloporia spathulata to the state of Pará. The knowledge about Hymenochaetaceae in the Brazilian Amazonia is briefly discussed, and a key to the neotropical species of Coltricia is provided.

Abstract A recent survey in areas of the Amazonia and the Atlantic Forest in Brazil, and revision of the exsiccates deposited in herbaria INPA, SP and URM resulted in new records of Hymenochaetaceae: eight for the State of Rondônia, one for Acre, Amapá and Amazonas, three for Pará and two for Roraima. Coltricia barbata, C. duportii, Hymenochaete porioides and H. unicolor are new records to the Brazilian Amazonia, while C. velutina is recorded for the first time after its description. A key to the Hymenochaete species known from Brazil is provided and the new combination Hymenochaete iodina is proposed.
