Fifty-three patients with Peyronie disease were examined sonographically. The use of a water path facilitates good localization and measurement of the fibrotic plaques in the area of the tunica albuginea. Calcifications can be clearly detected. Penile sonography is painless, free of risk, and easy to perform and yields precise morphologic pictures. It is ideal for documentation and assessment of the anatomic alterations in Peyronie disease as well as for control of its course.

Peyronie disease was treated with excision of the plaques and replacement of tunica albuginea with lyophilized human dura in younger patients and with implantation of a Small-Carrion prosthesis through an infrapubic approach without excision or incision of the plaques in elderly patients. This new concept has been satisfactory in 22 patients, with an observation time of up to four and one-half years.

For the first time in the literature, a syndrome that leads to ventral penile deviation is described – urethra manipulation syndrome (UMS, KelÂmi). This condition is due to fIbrosis and scar

Insemination with the sperm of an epididymal reservoir three days after implantation of the prosthesis led to a successful pregnancy with subsequent delivery of five healthy sucklings. Alloplastic spermatocele can function longer than four months as proved by a successful pregnancy.

The tunica albuginea of corpus cavernosum penis was excised and replaced with human dura in experiments on 11 dogs. The surface of the implant epithelialized within three weeks, and later the implant was replaced by autologous tissue with no scarring and shrinkage. After resection of placques in Peyronies disease the tunica albuginea can be replaced with specially treated human dura.

A simpler and more effective technique for the treatment of congenital penile deviation is described. From a total of 80 patients operated on for congenital penile deviation, 45 were treated successfully according to this new technique.

In a patient with aplasia of vas deferens the Kelâmi-Affeld alloplastic spermatocele was implanted on the caput region. Insemination of the aspirated sperms to the wife of the patient resulted in a successful full term delivery of a baby.

This report describes animal experiments on the use of human fibrin adhesives to close vesicovaginal fistulas artificially created in 20 rabbits. In one group of 10 animals one of the usual closure techniques was supplemented by application of fibrin adhesive to the suture line, whereas in the control group of 10 animals the fistula was closed using only the same usual suture technique. The results were evaluated according to pathoanatomical and histological criteria. In the control group a vesicovaginal fistula recurred in 30% of the animals, whereas the test group showed 100% closure during the observation period.

20 cases of congenital penile deviation were operated on using the Nesbit procedure. The operation gives excellent results. It is important to recognize the disease during the first examination, before patients become psychologically disturbed.

The fact that splinted tubulovasostomy still yields unsatisfactory results led us to modify the method. We were able to increase the patency of anastomoses by 18%; splint-absorption disturbances could be reduced in 12% of the cases.
