Name borders

The problem of name resolution for cascaded names which spans multiple naming systems is discussed and the concept of name border is introduced. Name borders are used in resolving names that span two or more name spaces, possibly in a distributed environment. A name border between two name spaces isolates the needed information to link the two name spaces while preserving the autonomy and independence of each name space. The use of name borders for cascaded name resolution solves the problem of multiple syntax for name representation m different naming systems.
