Leontyevs theoretical approach invites us to go beyond the naturalistic conception of the human being in the field of psychology. This progress is possible if we understand the human mind as something that develops through the insertion process of the individual into culture and the social relations. This paper is a critical analysis of psychological publications on adolescence directed to parents and teachers. Writings in psychology that focus on adolescence tend to be greatly influenced by the naturalistic approach. The social consequences of this tendency point to the need for a critique.

The adolescence has been a society interest theme and consequently Psychology is giving it a very important space not only in the field of Development Psychology but on fields of Education and Social Psychology as well. Books, magazines and publications have being produced in order to give parents and educators a more technical knowledge on the adolescence theme. The interest of our research is related to the exact conception of adolescence that those publications present and considers its critical analysis indicating the consequences of naturalizing conceptions as much as in the educative practice as in the fragility of public policies in that sector. Based on social-historical perspective in psychology, it was intended to contribute to the spreading and development of an adolescence conception that takes it as a social production indicating possibilities of new practices and allowances to the construction of youth public policies that considers adolescence its social historical nature.

This article presents the main aspects of the academic trajectory of Professor Silvia Tatiana Maurer Lane, from the initial proposal of a critical Social Psychology to the formulation of a project for a socially committed Psychology. Silvia Lane was a pioneer in theoretical propositions which questioned mainstream Brazilian Social Psychology, emphasizing the need to expose its ties with the dominant economic and political interests and redirecting its production towards social transformation. In her career trajectory she brought together theory and praxis, contributing to the revision of concepts and methods, and to the organization of this area of knowledge. She worked tirelessly in various fronts to produce a Social Psychology that could recognize the historical character of social and human phenomena and that conceived people as active and historical beings. The text begins by situating her remarkable presence, within this critical perspective, in Brazilian and Latin American Social Psychology. In sequence, it presents the main characteristics of her theoretical production concerning the development of a Socio-Historical Social Psychology. At the conclusion, it emphasizes her role in consolidating a Psychology that is intrinsically compromised with Brazilian and Latin-American realities; being familiar with this reality, she contributed to the construction of theoretical-practical instruments for its transformation in the direction of a society based on justice and equality. To put is in a different manner, the development of a socially committed Psychology. This article presents the main aspects of the academic trajectory of Professor Silvia Tatiana Maurer Lane, from the initial proposal of a critical Social Psychology to the formulation of a project for a socially committed Psychology. Abstract : This paper had the objetive of understandig the subjective dimension of the oncological patients who receive an educational provision at the IOP-GRAACC-UNIFESP. Using a qualitative methodology, based on the social-historical psychology, we intended to understand how these students see the hospital school, the teacher who works at the hospital and the kind of apprenticeship that is carried on in this context. We have noticed that the hospital school is marked by a significative absense of the elements that build the way the teenagers see the tradicional school, at the same time that it is seen as a more pleaseant learning environment. The teacher who works at the hospital is loaded with a positive affectivity charge and the subjects he teaches have other functions in this context. The hospital school must act according to its differences, even when they are based on something that is missing, assuming itself as a special scholar enviroment. Keywords : Teaching. Hospitalization. Schools. Cancer.

This research investigated the subjective dimension of social inequality by analyzing life projects of rich and poor young people. We understand that the social inequalities of Brazil constitute a complex social phenomenon that must be investigated both on its objective and subjective dimensions. By investigating the latter dimension, we aim to highlight the presence of subjects that are not a mere consequence of unequal social reality; they constitute it and, at the same time, are constituted by it. Each participant was asked to write two essays: The first one about his own life project; the second one about the life project of a young person from the other unequal social class. The life-project essays were taken as methodological tools to capture the subjective dimension of social inequality. Guided by the theoretic-methodological perspective of socio-historical psychology, we looked for elements of significance – sense and meaning – of young people about themselves, in the relation with other young people from the unequal social class, in a society characterized by socio-economic inequalities. We realized that social inequalities were naturalized by our subjects and justified by personal efforts or family heritage. We also found an emphasis on significances that valorize the way-of-life of the rich as a model to be followed, and a correlative depreciation of poor social classes. Beyond the significances constituted upon the young people writings, we highlight that the subjective dimension of social inequality is configured on the silence of these subjects about their unequal ones.

This article is based on a survey about the choice of university course by ProUni fellows and aims to contribute to the studies on the subjective dimension of social inequality. The basic assumption is that the subjective meanings, present and discussed in this choice, are a source of information for the discussion of social inequality, to the extent that these students have necessarily from poor segments of the population and reached the university. Scholarship students were interviewed courses with clienteles of different profiles in the same university. The results are the contents of this article, which highlights the feeling of victory by winning the university and the project beyond what their families have won, becoming better. Reflection on how these projects are meant for scholarship students allows contribute to studies on the subjective dimension of social inequality in Brazil.
