In this paper a study of wind barrier efficiency in terms of traffic safety is analyzed. A novel approach to bridge structures design is represented, where relevant traffic safety issues are incorporated into an early stage of design procedures. The numerical procedure based on standard turbulence model is applied to calculate resulting wind forces on the vehicle of arbitrary geometry. The effect of wind barriers geometry placed on both sides of the viaduct on resulting vehicle wind forces is analyzed. Used numerical procedure has also been experimentally verified in a wind tunnel laboratory. Complex multibody models that could be used to analyze vehicle handling and riding dynamic are represented. Further, vehicle models are used to show how resulting wind forces could affect vehicle dynamic and traffic safety issues. Relevant traffic safety situations are considered and discussed for particular wind barrier.

Full-scale tests not only can verify the numerical model of a structure, but can also serve as an independent control during erection. This was the case for a new bridge in Maribor, Slovenia, where measurements of ambient vibrations were performed throughout the entire erection. Special attention was paid to the eigenfrequency changes caused by the erection of each segment. This monitoring provided useful information to the design engineers during erection and will continue to do so in the future. The paper focuses on measurements made on the balanced cantilever with a variable depth on the left shore.

The aim of this paper is to present case study of the use of BIM approach for planning of maintenance cost of a facility in the operation time of a real business-storage facility in Slovenia. The first part outlines general principles of FM and BIM. Next, the features of facility maintenance are described according to the current Slovenian legislation. In addition, several standards used in other countries, as the result of the mutual development of the FM and BIM, are introduced. After that, step-by-step procedures for planning of maintenance cost are exposed, namely from Element list for maintenance, determination of the lifetime, service measures and cost analysis to development of cost plan in tabular form. The presented cost plan is designed in a unique way in which cost analysis is performed by using BIM approach with linked data to 3D BIM model. Moreover, Construction Project Management Software (Vico Office) is applied. For the purpose of appraisal maintenance costs over the entire life of 60 years, cumulative costs are distributed over the years. Thus, the cost plan is made in tabular form in Excel, presenting visual overview of planned maintenance more explicitly.

The aim of this paper is to present an application of 6D building information modelling (6D BIM) on a real business-storage building in Slovenia. First, features of building maintenance in general are described according to the current Slovenian legislation, and also a general principle of BIM is given. After that, step-by-step activities for modelling 6D BIM are exposed, namely from Element list for maintenance, determination of their lifetime and service measures, cost analysing and time analysing to 6D BIM modelling. The presented 6D BIM model is designed in a unique way in which cost analysis is performed as 5D BIM model with linked data to use BIM Construction Project Management Software (Vico Office), integrated with 3D BIM model, whereas time analysis as 4D BIM model is carried out as non-linked data with the help of Excel (without connection to 3D BIM model). The paper is intended to serve as a guide to the building owners to prepare 6D BIM and to provide an insight into the relevant dynamic information about intervals and costs for execution of maintenance works in the whole building lifecycle.
