Abstract This paper reports for the first time an ichneumonid parasitoid Calliephialtes sittenfeldae Gauld Ugalde-Gómez et Hanson (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) associated with a dipteran host Anastrepha spatulata Stone (Diptera: Tephritidae), recovered from fruit of Schoepfia schreberi (Santalales: Olacaceae) in central Veracruz, Mexico. Large numbers of this parasitoid were collected and reared from its fruit fly host in three localities of Veracruz, Mexico. Some observations of its biology are also reported. This is a first record of C. sittenfeldae from Mexico, and the first record of this parasitoid species, its insect host, and the host plant. The male of this species is described and illustrated for the first time.

The Tersilochinae fauna of Finland is critically revised (except subgenera Tersilochus Holmgren and Euporizon Horstmann). Tersilochinae in two principal Finnish ichneumonid collections, the Finnish Natural History Museum LUOMUS (University of Helsinki) and the private collection of R. Jussila (Turku), have been examined. Thirteen genera and 61 species are found to occur in Finland, including one new species, Barycnemis finnora Khalaim, sp. nov. The Nearctic genus Ctenophion Horstmann is recorded from Finland, as well as from the Palaearctic region, for the first time. Nineteen species are newly recorded from Finland and four species are excluded from the Finnish fauna. Barycnemis agilis (Holmgren) is transferred to the genus Spinolochus Horstmann (comb. nov.). Tersilochus sulcatus Hellén, 1958, a junior homonym of T. sulcatus Smith van Burgst, 1913, is synonymised with Phradis brevicornis Horstmann (syn. nov.). New data on distribution of 25 species in northwestern parts of Russia are also provided.

Zealochus postfurcalis is transferred to the genus Gauldiana (comb. nov.). The genus Diaparsis is recorded from New Zealand for the first time. Keys to genera and species of Tersilochinae occurring in New Zealand are provided.

Based on a large quantity ichneumonid material collected mainly from the Mexican states of Veracruz and Quintana Roo, faunistic records of 79 species belonging to subfamilies Acaenitinae, Banchinae, Cryptinae, Cylloceriinae, Labeninae, Lycorininae, Microleptinae, Pimplinae, Tersilochinae, and Tryphoninae are provided. Three species are described as new to science: Latosculum ortegai Kasparyan Khalaim, sp. nov. (Cryptinae), Eusterinx madorae Khalaim Kasparyan, sp. nov. (Microleptinae) and Neotheronia veracruzana Khalaim, sp. nov. (Pimplinae). Two genera, Nipponaetes Uchida (Cryptinae) and Meggoleus Townes (Tersilochinae), and six species, Nipponaetes hansoni (Gauld) (Cryptinae), Lycorina moralesi Gauld (Lycorininae), Neotheronia murilloi Gauld (Pimplinae), Meggoleus pampahermosensis Alvarado (Tersilochinae), Phytodietus moragai Gauld, and Zagryphys zulaya Gauld (Tryphoninae), are first records from Mexico. Females of three species, Cestrus tenuiventris (Cresson), Mallochia macula Kasparyan Ruíz-Cancino (Cryptinae), and Phytodietus moragai Gauld (Tryphoninae), are recorded and described for the first time.

Three species of the genus Allophrys Förster are found to occur in Japan: A. matsumurai sp. nov., A. takemotoi sp. nov. and a third morphospecies known only from males. This is the first description of Allophrys species from Japan, as well as from the entire Palaearctic region. An identification key to Japanese species of Allophrys is provided.

Two species of the genus Probles Förster, P. interruptor sp. nov. and P. segaza sp. nov., from South Korea and Russian Far East, are described. Probles interruptor differs from its congeners by occipital carina mediodorsally narrowly interrupted and polished occipital surface extending partly on the vertex. Probles segaza differs from other species of Euporizon by its robust ovipositor with a deep and narrow dorsal subapical notch.

Two new species of the tryphonine genus Exenterus from Mexico, E. durangensis Khalaim & Ruíz-Cancino, sp. nov. and E. sehuerachicus Khalaim & Ruíz-Cancino, sp. nov., are described. Both species belong to the group of Exenterus species characterized by the unusually short, depressed tarsi. Exenterus durangensis was reared from the sawfly Zadiprion falsus Smith and E. sehuerachicus from Neodiprion autumnalis Smith (Hymenoptera: Diprionidae). This is the first record of the genus Exenterus as a parasitoid of these hosts. An identification key to separate the two Mexican species of Exenterus is provided.

Four species of the genus Barycnemis Förster are found to occur in Japan: B. dissimilis (Gravenhorst), B. harpura (Schrank), B. naganoensis sp. nov. and B. tobiasi Khalaim. These are the first records of Barycnemis from this country. All recognized Japanese species belong to the harpura species group. An identification key to four species of Barycnemis occurring in Japan is provided. Barycnemis funiuensis Sheng, 2002 from East China is synonymised with the widely distributed Holarctic species Porizon dissimilis Gravenhorst, 1829 (syn. nov.).
