Mobile Heart Monitoring System Prototype Based on the Texas Instruments Hardware: Energy Efficiency and J-point Detection

Andrey Kuzmin; Maxim Safronov; Oleg N. Bodin; Mikhail Petrovsky; Anton Sergeenkov

This paper describes a design of prototype of mobile heart monitoring system based on the Texas Instruments ADS1298R ECG front end and ??2540 wireless data transmission chip. The described design and technical details allow developing a new mobile heart monitoring system consisting of ECG recording device, mobile computer smartphone or tablet. The original algorithm of energy efficiency improvement by adaptive gain control is proposed and experimentally tested. Increase of battery life is from 1% to 19% depending on concrete conditions. The new algorithm of J-point detection is described and examined on the test ECG database. The detection rate is from 88% to 93%. It will allow mobile monitoring system to inform the user about any signs of dangerous heart condition in ECG. The paper also describes experimental results of wireless protocol bandwidth and contact break detection. The results confirm the efficiency of the proposed technical solutions to mobile heart monitoring for wide range of applications from sports and fitness to monitoring for medical reasons.

Device and software for mobile heart monitoring

Andrey Kuzmin; Maxim Safronov; Oleg N. Bodin; Mikhail Petrovsky; Anton Sergeenkov

This paper describes a new solution for mobile heart monitoring. This approach is based on the experience of ECG processing algorithms development for diagnostic purposes. The described approach allows developing a new mobile heart monitoring system consisting of ECG recording device, mobile computer (smartphone or tablet) and server (medical database). It is based on specially developed software components (microcontroller program, mobile computer client software and server software). ECG processing algorithms could be used offline without any communication with server. It lets mobile monitoring system inform the user about any signs of dangerous heart condition in ECG. Paper also describes experimental results of J-point detection, energy efficiency of the ECG device, wireless protocol bandwidth and contact break detection. They confirm the efficiency of the proposed technical approaches to mobile heart monitoring for wide range of applications from sports and fitness to monitoring for medical reasons.

Anton Ivaschenko; Nikolay Gorbachenko; Alexandr Kolsanov; Andrey Kuzmin

This paper introduces a software development kit (SDK) to provide IT developers and medical community a platform to build new simulation technologies for surgery training. There is described a formal model for simulation objects, scenes and scenarios representation and a software solution for objects interaction modeling and surgery scene simulating. The results are illustrated by the simulation suite for laparoscopy surgery training delivered and installed at Samara State Medical University.

Intelligent data processing scheme for mobile heart monitoring system

Andrey Kuzmin; M. Mitrokhin; N. Mitrokhina; M. Rovnyagin; Alan K. Alimuradov

Paper describes some aspects of data processing in mobile heart monitoring systems. Authors highlight an important cardiological and social problem of arrhythmic pathologies of the heart and the possibilities of new medical equipment to detect the arrythmia. The architecture and the features of up-to-date monitoring systems are investigated. The specificity of long term ECG records is examined via the example of PAF Prediction Challenge Database from physionet.org. The scheme of open architecture modular ECG device is developed for experimental research of HRV analysis and arrhythmia paroxysms prediction. Data processing scheme that enables to design portative monitoring system for the detection of signs of arrhythmia and predict the arrhythmia paroxysm is proposed. Set of required ECG signal processing methods and algorithms is chosen.

Intelligent SDK for 3D surgery simulation

Alexandr Kolsanov; Aikush Nazaryan; Anton Ivaschenko; Andrey Kuzmin

This paper describes an intelligent solution for simulation technologies application in medical surgery education. Specially designed software is presented for human anatomy learning using the 3D atlas of human body “Inbody Anatomy” and surgery education using the laparoscopy training suite with realistic force feedback. The paper illustrates how 3D computer models designed for the atlas can be used at surgery training suites. Particular attention is given to implementation of intelligent support of training based on implementation of game mechanics. Specially designed Software Development Kit (SDK) is introduced to provide IT developers the possibility to reuse the delivered components to build new simulation solution for medicine. The proposed cloud service helps exchange developed solutions and organize the community of subscribers and developers.

Processing control on the basis of kinematic characteristics of the equipment operation modelling

Andrey Kuzmin; A. Yu. Ardeev; A. Yu. Tychkov; I.I. Artemov

The purpose of this work is the creation of mathematical model of the processed surface metal removal taking into account kinematic characteristics of the part motion relative to the lap. The mathematical model creation describing kinematic characteristics of the workpiece lap motion is made with the use of the real equipment parameters. The calculated scheme reflecting a relative motion of the lap and the workpiece is developed. This model creation allows building technological equipment automated control systems considering real kinematic parameters of a working surface and the workpiece interaction.
