Abstract The total vapour pressures of the binary system containing 1-octanol and n-octane were measured at 373.15 K and 383.15 K using the ebulliometric method. The solid-liquid equilibrium data were determined by the Rossini method. The experimental data were correlated by means of Redlich-Kister, NRTL and modified NRTL equations.

Abstract The (solid + liquid) equilibria of (n-octan-1-ol + n-hexadecane or n-dodecane or n-undecane) have been measured using a dynamic method. The experimental results have been correlated using the NRTL and NRTLMK equations.

Abstract The total vapour pressures of the binary system containing octan-1-ol and n -decane were measured at 373.15 K and 383.15 K using the ebulliometric method. The solid-liquid equilibrium (SLE) data were determined by the Rossini method. The experimental data were correlated using the Redlich-Kister, NRTL and modified NRTL equations. The prediction of SLE data from vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) and excess enthalpy H E data is proposed and discussed.

Abstract The vapour pressures of {pyridine + (methyl- or ethyl- or n -propyl- or n -butyl-benzene)&}; have been measured at 373.15 K using the ebulliometric method. The excess molar Gibbs energies were calculated.

Abstract (Solid + liquid) equilibria have been studied for (butan-1-ol + n-decane or n-octane). The results have been successfully correlated with the NRTL and, with a slightly better fit, the NRTLMK equations.

A (solid + liquid) phase diagram has been determined for ( N -methylpyrrolidin-2-one + 3,4-dimethylphenol). It shows the existence of a well defined 1–1 complex in the solid state with a congruent melting temperature and a 1–2 complex with an incongruent melting temperature. For the 1–2 complex a metastable form can be made to crystallize from solution.

Abstract The results of studies on the course of cryometric curves obtained by the Skau technique and suggestions of a new procedure to be based on the use of the inflection point of the melting curve for the determination of the “equilibrium” range of the cryometric curve are described.

Abstract A method has been described for evaluating the premolten liquid fraction (F1) at a temperature adopted as the initial point in the melting curve ascertained by Skaus kinetic cryometry technique, based exclusively on the experimentally observed course of this curve.

Abstract The inadequacy of methods described so far for establishing the Tj-line which limits from above the surface corresponding to the advancing solid—liquid phase transition in the Skaus cryometric technique has been emphasized. A new method has been presented which makes it possible to ascertain the Tj-line and to find the corrected T′j-line which allows us to distinguish between the heat effect connected with the phase transition and the heat effect corresponding to the temperature growth of the sample investigated, at any point in the melting curve.
