Muon anomalous magnetic moment: A harbinger for ''new physics''

Andrzej Czarnecki; William J. Marciano

Standard model loop contributions to the muon anomalous magnetic moment, a{sub {mu}}equivalent to(g{sub {mu}}-2)/2, and their theoretical uncertainties are scrutinized. The status and implications of the recently reported 2.6 sigma experiment versus theory deviation a{sub {mu}}{sup expt}-a{sub {mu}}{sup SM}=426(165) x 10{sup -11} are discussed. Possible explanations due to supersymmetric loop effects with m{sub SUSY}{approx_equal}55{sub -8}{sup +16}tan {beta} GeV, radiative mass mechanisms at the 1--2 TeV scale and other new physics scenarios are examined.

Lepton Spectra From Decays of Polarized Top Quarks

Andrzej Czarnecki; Marek Jezabek; Johann H. Kuhn

Abstract QCD corrections to the double differential lepton spectrum from the decay of a polarized top quark are calculated. It is shown that the factorization into energy-dependent and angular-dependent parts holds true also for the QCD corrected spectrum to a high degree of accuracy. A compact formula is given for the remaining small corrections.

Radiative corrections to b → cτντ

Andrzej Czarnecki; Marek Jezabek; Johann H. Kuhn

Abstract Analytical calculation is presented of the QCD radiative corrections to the rate of the process b → cτ ν τ and to the τ lepton longitudinal polarization in τ ν τ rest frame. The results are given in the form of one dimensional infrared finite integrals over the invariant mass of the leptons. We argue that this form may be optimal for phenomelogical applications due to a possible breakdown of semilocal hadron-parton duality in decays of heavy flavours.Analytical calculation is presented of the QCD radiative corrections to the rate of the process

Two loop QCD corrections to b --> c transitions at zero recoil

Andrzej Czarnecki

The two-loop electroweak corrections to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, generated by fermionic loops, are calculated. An interesting role of the top quark in the anomaly cancellation is observed. New corrections, including terms of order
