Methods of Web pages content monitoring come increasingly in the interest of law enforcement services, searching for Web pages contain symptoms of criminal activities. The information can be hidden from indexing systems by embedding in multimedia materials. Finding such materials is a large challenge of contemporary criminal analysis. A concept of integrating a large scale Web crawling system with a multimedia materials analysis algorithms is described in this paper. The Web crawling system, which is processing a few hundred pages per second, provides a mechanism for plugin inclusion. A plugin can analyze processed resources and detect references to multimedia materials. The references are passed to a component, which implements an algorithm for image or video analysis. Several approaches to the integration are described and some exemplary implementation assumptions are presented.

Growing popularity of Web 2.0 systems created huge set of publicly available data, which is continuously expanded by users of the Internet. The anonymity of publications in Web systems encourages some users to publish false or illegal statements. Tools for identifying portal users, who publish such posts could result in higher quality of information and could be useful for law enforcement services. In this paper a method for finding similar Internet identities is introduced. Detected similarities can be used for finding several accounts of the same person. The method is based on calculating various measures characterizing forums users. It uses Web crawling system to collect data from forums. A prototype system for finding similar users is described and tests results are presented.

Problems related to the monitoring of environmental parameters, and in particular air-pollution in urban agglomerations, are some of the more publicly discussed public issues in recent times. This paper presents the concept, functionality, main hardware and software components, and test results of low-cost prototype of the system, enabling monitoring of environmental parameters such as air-pollution, temperature, humidity, pressure and UV radiation. The main features of this solution are its low cost, relatively high precision of measurement and the ability to operate in mobile version, without wired power supply and communication, including GPS coordinates as one of the measured parameters. The prototype can be an alternative to expensive professional solutions and a base for developing more advanced sensor networks. For home use it can be used as a home weather station with an air pollution sensor, being an extension of the of Personal Area Network of the recently popular Internet of Things solutions.

Abstract The article presents the concept, architecture and testing of mobile monitoring system of water reservoirs. Its main elements are a remotely controlled boat with a sonar, which additionally records GPS data. The developed system could be used in several configurations for the achievement of functions such as generating bathymetric maps or the current monitoring of the bottom of a water reservoir. The main functionalities of the system have been tested and presented with the results of the tests and their analysis, conclusions and plan of further development.

The paper contains the concept of agent-based search system and monitoring of Web pages. It is oriented at the exploration of limited problem area, covering a given sector of industry or economy. The proposal of agent-based (modular) structure of the system is due to the desire to ease the introduction of modifications or enrichment of its functionality. Commonly used search engines do not offer such a feature. The second part of the article presents a pilot version of the WEB mining system, represent- ing a simplified implementation of the previously presented concept. Testing of the implemented application was executed by referring to the problem area of foundry industry.

Evolution of the WEB and high anonymity of virtual identities result in positive and negative impact on society. One of the negative effects is a problem of false spam opinions, which are distributed throughout WEB forums and recommendation portals. Researches in this area mainly concern detection of particular examples of spam opinions. Nevertheless, an idea of detecting virtual multi-identities, created by a single person, still seems to be lacking effective solutions. Presented article describes a system which allows to search virtual multi-identities, created in order to generate spam opinions. The system bases on a combination of features from various domains: natural language processing, time-activity analysis and related to common objects. Series of tests evaluated system’s efficiency in the area of detecting virtual multi-identities from recommendation portal.
