Some alkaloids of Alstonia undulata

Dominique Guillaume; Anne-Marie Morfaux; Bernard Richard; G. Massiot; L. Le Men-Olivier; J. Pusset; Thierry Sevenet

Abstract Sixteen indole alkaloids have been identified in the root bark and in the leaves of Alstonia undulata from New Caledonia. They are vincamedine, tetrahydroalstonine, alstonidine, deplancheine, fluorocarpamine, pleiocarpamine, 11-methoxyakuammicine, cabucraline, desoxycabufiline, cabucraline- N (4)-oxide, 11-methoxyakuammicine N (4)-oxide, gentiacraline, plumocraline, vincorine, cathafoline and pericyclivine. Five bis indoles of unknown structure have been isolated. The root bark alkaloid mixture contains gentiacraline the first alkaloid made up of an indole and a pyridine alkaloid.

Alkaloids from tonduzia pittieri

Anne-Marie Morfaux; Patrick Mouton; Georges Massiot; Louisette Le Men-Olivier

Abstract From the leaves of Tonduzia pittieri ( Alstonia pittieri ), nine alkaloids have been identified. Four are novel: 11-methoxyvincamedine, 11-[10-(11-methoxy-17- epi -vincamajinyl)]-vincorine, 11-[10-(11-methoxyvincamajinyl)]-vincorine, 11-[10-(11-methoxyvincamedinyl)]-vincorine. The five others are known: vincorine, 11-methoxy-17- epi -vincamajine, picrinine, 18-hydroxycabucraline and cabufiline.

Alkaloids from stem-bark ofTonduzia pittieri

Anne-Marie Morfaux; Patrick Mouton; Georges Massiot; Louisette Le Men-Olivier

Abstract Six alkaloids have been identified from the stem-bark of Tonduzia pittieri ( Alstonia pittieri ) collected in Guatemala. They consist of four new compounds; 11-methoxy-17-epivincamajine, 11-methoxyvincamajine, 18-hydroxycabucraline, 10-methoxy-11-[10-(11-methoxylvincamajinyl)]-cathafoline, and of two known compounds, cabucraline and akuammine.
