Mad Scientists, Narrative, and Social Power: A Collaborative Learning Activity

Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short stories “The Birthmark” (1843) and “Rappaccini’s Daughter” (1844) encourage critical thinking about science and scientific research as forms of social power.
