Automatisierter Test für Softwaremodule

Die Daimler AG setzt bei der Entwicklung von Softwaremodulen fur automatische Fahrzeuggetriebe eine modellbasierte Testumgebung ein. Die Absicherung der Funktionalitat der Module erfolgt mit einem neu entwickelten Testgenerator von QTronic, der Tausende von Testfallen automatisch erzeugt, simuliert und analysiert. Die einzelnen Komponenten der Entwicklungsumgebung, wie Modelle fur Fahrzeug und Antriebsstrang, Softwaremodule und Testgenerator, sind uber ein Software-in-the-Loop(SiL)-Werkzeug gekoppelt und auf handelsublichen Laptops ablauffahig. Dadurch lassen sich die Softwaremodule wie im realen Fahrbetrieb ansteuern und testen.

Automating test of control software: Method for automatic test generation

Daimler uses a model-based test process for the development of software modules for automatic transmissions. The validation of the module functions is carried out with a test generator developed by QTronic. This test generator is able to automatically generate, simulate and analyze thousands of test scenarios. The individual components of the development environment, such as, powertrain and vehicle models, software modules and test generator, are coupled by a Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) tool and can be executed on standard laptops. The software modules are operating as in a real vehicle and can be thoroughly tested.

Sequentronic — an automated transmission from Mercedes-Benz

The new Sequentronic automated transmission from Mercedes- Benz is moving the conventional gearbox into a new aera. Over the medium to long term, Sequentronic will give drivers the ease of use the demand of a transmission without sacrificing the excitement and sheer driveability offered by a manual gear change. The new system is also more fuel-efficient than the traditional automatic transmission with torque converter. Mercedes-Benz anticipates that, in the premium car sector, today’s manual gearboxes will be replaced by the new Sequentronic automated transmission over the next few years.
