Dinâmica concorrencial e inovação em atividades de alta tecnologia: uma análise das indústrias de equipamentos de informática e semicondutores

The aim of this study is to describe and analyze the competitive and innovation dynamics of computer equipment and semiconductor industries. Hence, it focuses on analyzing how the technological paradigm characterized by modularity configures itself as the major element in the creation of leading technology platforms, which determine the competitive and innovation dynamics in these industries. With regard to the computer equipment industry, it was concluded that the establishment of technology cooperation, the scale effects, and innovation readiness are the main sources of competitive asymmetry. It was also observed that innovation dynamics in this sector is based on modular designs in the semiconductor industry. On the other hand, their technology advances are due to the evolution of (i) the capacity to increase the number of transistors available in a single circuit and (ii) the capacity of creating design standards able to integrate more circuits in a single chip.

Desenvolvimento local e desconcentração industrial: uma análise da dinâmica do sistema local de empresas de eletrônica de Santa Rita do Sapucaí e suas implicações de políticas

This paper aims to analyze the main factors responsible for the development of the electronic industry in Santa Rita do Sapucai. Hence, it promotes a debate with the authors who claim that the new Brazilian industrial distribution after 1980 and the subsequent formation of a polygon of development encompassing several Brazilian States result from the industrial deconcentration of the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Region. It was concluded that the main factors responsible for the growth of the local system were: the availability of qualified local human resources, local and global knowledge networks, the local entrepreneurship, the productive complementarity and the interactions among local agents.

Contribuições da era Mao Tsé-Tung para a industrialização chinesa

Este artigo busca resgatar algumas reformas realizadas por Mao Tse-Tung (1949-1976) para o processo de industrializacao chinesa. Usualmente quando se analisa este processo de industrializacao parte-se da Reorientacao da Estrategia de Desenvolvimento de Deng Xiaoping a partir de 1978; no entanto, sera argumentado que o legado deixado por Mao Tse-Tung foi fundamental para garantir a acelerada modernizacao industrial vivenciada no periodo seguinte.

Brasil-China: uma integração produtiva virtuosa?

This paper aims to analyze the bilateral benefits generated in the commercial relationship between Brazil and China. It is understood that the structural transformations experienced in the last decades are conditioning factors to the results. The method used was the input-output analysis by the interregional multiplier, which allows the measurement of direct and indirect stimulus generated by the Chinese sectorial production over the Brazilian production and vice versa, between the years 2000 and 2014. Results showed that the stimulus promoted by the Brazilian production on the Chinese is larger. Thus, it is understood that there is an asymmetry in the positioning of the economies to benefit the Asian one due to the lack of policies articulation in Brazil.
