Fases do desenvolvimento e diferenciação testicular em cutias (Dasyprocta aguti) criadas em cativeiros

A cutia (Dasyprocta aguti) e um roedor silvestre encontrado amplamente na regiao Nordeste do Brasil. E uma especie muito utilizada pela populacao humana de baixa renda como fonte alternativa de proteina na alimentacao. Foram utilizadas 31 cutias, machos, provenientes da Universidade Federal do Piaui, Estado do Piaui e da Escola Superior de Agricultura de Mossoro Estado do Rio Grande do Norte. Os animais foram divididos em grupos etarios desde o nascimento ate os 14 meses de idade. O diâmetro nuclear medio foi obtido pela medida de 10 nucleos do tipo celular estudado em cada testiculo, no estagio 1 do ciclo do epitelio seminifero. Nos animais que nao apresentaram o epitelio organizado em estagios bem definidos em virtude da idade, foram feitas medidas em seccoes transversais escolhidas somente pelo contorno circular. O inicio da assincronia do processo espermatogenico foi observado a partir dos seis meses de idade. A puberdade, na cutia Dasyprocta aguti, foi definitivamente estabelecida a partir dos nove meses de idade, pois estavam presentes todos os tipos celulares e espermatozoides liberados no lume tubular em grande parte do parenquima testicular.

Origens e ramificações das artérias aortas esquerda e dorsal do jabuti (Geochelone carbonaria, Spix, 1824)

We worked with 6 tortoises, 3 females and 3 males of the species Geochelone carbonaria, in order to describe the main arteries, which vascularize the organs of the coelomic cavity. We observed that the left aorta lengthen three main branches in order to irrigate the organs of the animals cranial area, before it joins the right aorta to form the dorsal aorta, which is in charge of the nutrition of the caudal area of the animal, through several branches coming irregularly in quantity and origin.

Arterial vascularization of the mandible and maxilla of neotropical primates.

The objective of the present investigation was to conduct a comparative macroscopic study of the arterial vascularization of the mandible and maxilla of neotropical primates of the genera Cebus, Alouatta, Callithrix, and Leontopithecus. After vinyl was injected into the arterial system of the head of each specimen, the pieces were macerated and corroded. The level of the bifurcation of the common carotid artery into the internal and external carotids varied between the first and third cervical vertebrae. The external carotid artery accounts for most of the vascularization of the facial structures. The actual vessels responsible for the supply of this region are the sublingual, facial, angular, lingual, submandibular, submental, inferior and superior labial, maxillary, inferior alveolar, infraorbital, superior posterior alveolar, palatine major, and sphenopalatine arteries. We conclude that although the arterial vascular pattern was similar in all the genera studied, and resembles the human pattern, there are notable variations in the vasculature of the mandible and maxilla among these four neotropical genera. Estudo da origem e distribuiçäo das artérias do útero em fetos de búfala sem raça definida (Bubalus bubalis, Linnaeus, 1758)

Neste trabalho e descrita a sistematizacao da origem e distribuicao dos vasos sanguineos que se dirigem a parede externa do utero de fetos da especie bubalina, sem raca definida. Foram feitas tambem correlacoes entre o numero de vasos e os valores metricos do utero e do feto.
