Programming Of Primary School Mathematics Teaching Students’ Perceptions On Point, Line And Plane Concepts

In this study, it is aimed to investigate freshman students’ perceptions at- tending at Erzincan Education Faculty, Department of Elementary Mathematics Education, point, line, plane concept and relations to the subjects some concepts. A geometry concept test was developed (α=0.60) and administrated to the sampling who are freshman students. As a result, the students link to the alternative concepts, they have a lack of the subject which are the issued concepts respecting the gender, and was determined a great deal of misconceptions. When middle and secondary school teachers teach fundamental mathematics concepts which are point, line, plane and some concepts related to all these should awake that students may have misconceptions regarding all these concepts. At the end of the study, it was proposed to the pre-service teacher regarding teaching of above-mentioned concepts.

The Evaluation Of The Primary Education Seventh Grade Mathematics Textbooks

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the primary grade-7 mathematics textbooks by student-teacher and teachers. The sampling that are attending mathe- matics course at Ataturk University Erzincan Education Faculty in 2002-2003 Spring Term was divided five groups consisted of five persons and the fourteen primary mathematics teachers. The former groups enrolled “Analysis of Primary Education Textbooks” course, which the course is four per week, and as an activity they investigated grade-7 mathematics textbooks and evaluated. During the evalua- tion, a Likert type scale was used. After computing the means, Variance analysis was applied on the data. As a result, there is no difference between the textbooks (p<0.05), but there is a significant difference between the student-teacher groups and between the teachers and the student-teacher groups in terms of structure (p<0.05), content (p<0.001), and teaching method, strategy and techniques (p<0.001).
