he manufacture of moulded flexible polyurethane foam began in T the mid 1950s with the introduction of the hot-cure or conventional process. This technology utilized TDI and polyols with relatively low reactivity, thus requiring high mould temperatures and rather long demould times. The hot-cure foam process was replaced in the mid1960s by cold cure foams, also referred to as HR foams. This new class of foams was characterized by the use of TDI/MDI blends and more reactive polyether polyols used in combination with reinforced polyols.
