Bifurcated traffic and channel assignment (BITCA) to interconnected metro rings

We have proposed a bifurcated approach to channel assignment in interconnected metro-rings and are able to reduce the net kind of transponder cards needed for dynamic traffic requests. We have compared different tunable cards and estimated a relation for economical optimized tunability for a given number of wavelengths and see that the optimized transponder need not have tunability greater than /spl lambda//sub max//10 for optimized throughput and blocking probability.

Delay Sensitive Smoothed Round Robin (DS2R2) Scheduler for Light-trail and SLiT Networks

We propose Delay Sensitive Smoothed Round Robin scheduling algorithm for provisioning services over light- trail and SLiT networks. Compliance to latencies of services such as PWE3, VoD, Voice and data and good efficiency are observed.

TIONets: triangular interconnection of optical networks

We propose a multihop network called TIONet or triangular interconnection of optical networks. The graph is examined from routing and scaling approaches. A store and forward routing scheme is assumed.
