On the Vibration Caused by Forced Displacements of Elastically Supported Mechanical System with a Shaft

This paper deals with problems of a forced vibration of an elastically supported mechanical system with a shaft. The vibration is caused by forced displacements. Such a problem, for instance, occurs in a jet engine put on a wing of an aeroplane. Fundamental equations and their solution are obtained. Numerical calculations and experiments for special cases are also given. The author shows how the forced vibration of such a system is influenced by the shaft within it, and how the forced vibration of the shaft varies in response to conditions of the elastic supports. The shaft cross section is uniform.

The Motion of the Concentrated Mass Placed on the End of the Uniform Beam Rotating Suddenly with Constant Anguler Velocity

In order to analyze the picking motion of power looms, we determined the equations of motion of the mass m placed on the end of the uniform beam which was suddenly revolved with constant anguler velocity ω at the instant t=+0 from the rest, using the method of the Laplace transformation. From these results, the mass was projected from the end, if the condition a2-α04-ω2-c4>0 would be satisfied, where : c=length of the beam, a2=EI/pA r=ratio denoted m/pAc, α0=the fundermental root of the following eq., 1+cosα cosh α+rα (cosα sinhα-sinα coshα)=0.
