Informatical (it) platform for the certification of explosives and pyrotehnical products

Daniela Rus; Gabriel Vasilescu; Attila Kovacs; Edward Gheorghiosu; Ciprian Jitea

This paper presents the research results on the development and implementation of a traceable and efficient system which is characterized by a high accuracy level, transposed within a specialized IT application in order to properly implement certain sampling schemes required for assessing the conformity of civil use explosives and pyrotechnic articles, in compliance with the European Directives 93/15/EEC (new 2014/28/EU) and 2007/23/EC (new 2013/29/UE). The scientific research results emphasized by this paper were obtained within the Project PN 07 45 02 68 - Program NUCLEU , entitled Research on the development and implementation of a series of IT tools for sampling from the manufacturing line representative samples of explosives for civil use/pyrotechnic articles .

Improvement of security measures during the use of explosives in firedamp hazardous mines

Attila Kovacs; Gabriel Vasilescu; Edward Gheorghiosu; Daniela Rus; Ciprian Jitea

This paper displays the results of the studies obtained according to the tests performed within INSEMEX explosives testing facilities, which concerns the establishing, on scientific grounds, of a procedure system of assessing the safety parameters for explosive charges used in fire-damp hazard mines, with a view to observe labour safety and health requirements while resorting to the safe and efficient rock blasting with explosives. As important results, it should be underlined the fact that the experimented charges are wide used in Romania in Jiu Valley coal-mines with good economic and technical benefits and also without any accidents and dangerous situations regarding the technology.

DETERMINATION OF THE DELAY ACCURACY OF THE COMPONENTS OF NON-ELECTRIC INITIATION SYSTEMS

Edward Gheorghiosu; Emilian Ghicioi; Attila Kovacs; Gabriel Vasilescu; Daniela Rus

In quarries, hard rock blasting is done effectively using explosives for civil use. Perhaps, the most used technical solution for decreasing the seismic effects due to blasting is sequential blasting in front of the quarry. This technical solution involves the use of proper means of initiating explosives, which have to meet certain characteristics able of leading to the achievement of the intended purpose. This paper describes one of the methods of verification and the testing results for non-electric initiation system components, usually used to initiate the explosives in quarries, in terms of delay accuracy , which is an essential parameter for highlighting the possibility of using these products within blasting schemes.

Thermal stability of explosives for civil use is a key security parameter. When the explosive is exposed to high temperatures in a given period of time can lead to undesirable phenomena such as decomposing or even very dangerous as uncontrolled detonation. DETERMINING OF THERMAL STABILITY OF EXPLOSIVES FOR CIVIL USES MODERN EQUIPMENT EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS ON THE DETERMINATION OF THE THERMAL STABILITY OF EXPLOSIVES FOR CIVIL USES In Directive 93/15/EEC [2] are technical requirement on the security of explosives to be evaluated before placing on the market by testing the products according to harmonized standards, aimed finding of compliance/noncompliance with relevant safety requirements. Test described in the standard SR EN 13631-2, Explosives for civil use, high explosives. Part 2: Determination of thermal stability of explosives, meets the essential requirements, required to be evaluated in section I.1; II.1 (b) and II.1 (d) of the European Directive, namely [4]:  each explosive must be designed, manufactured and supplied in such a way as to present a minimal risk to the safety of human life and health, and to prevent damage to property and the environment under normal, foreseeable conditions, in particular as regards the safety rules and standard practices until such time as it is used,  the physical and chemical stability of the explosive in all environ-mental conditions to which it may be ex-

Determination of Noise Level Specific to Pyrotechnic Articles for Professional Use, in Order to Evaluate the Level of Professional Risk

Gabriel Vasilescu; Attila Kovacs; Emilian Ghicioi; Daniela Rus; Edward Gheorghiosu; Ciprian Jitea; Tiberiu Csaszar

The paper presents a theoretical and practical approach to the concept of risk assessment of exposure to noise, specific to activity for use of pyrotechnic articles Category 4, from the perspective of ensuring the security of the effect resulting after fireworks displaying with these types of pyrotechnic products. For estimation and risk assessment using these types of products, researches has been undertaken to make an evaluation process procedure in order to provide data and information to prevent and combat the causes that may create a hazard.

Monitoring the Behaviour of Fireworks to Vibrations and the Establishment of the Mechanical Conditioning Influence

Edward Gheorghiosu; Emilian Ghicioi; Attila Kovacs; Ciprian Jitea; Stefan Ilici; Cristian Cioara

Fireworks are devices containing pyrotechnic composition which, upon functioning, will burn and/or explode to produce a visual or aural effect or movement, or a combination of such effects, intended as a direct form of entertainment.
