Seismicity study of volcano-tectonic in and around Tangkuban Parahu active volcano in West Java region, Indonesia

Tangkuban Parahu is one of the active volcano in Indonesia located about 15 km northern part of Bandung city. The objective of this study is to investigate the seismic activity in the time periods of January 2013 to December 2013. First, we identified seismic events induced by volcano-tectonic activities. These micro-earthquake events were identified as having difference of P-wave and S-wave arrival times less than three seconds. Then, we constrained its location of hypocenter to locate the source of the activities. Hypocenter determination was performed using adaptive simulated annealing method. Using these results, seismic tomographic inversions were conducted to image the three-dimensional velocity structure of Vp, Vs, and the Vp/Vs ratio. In this study, 278 micro-earthquake events have been identified and located. Estimation of anisotropy parameters in organic-rich shale: Rock physics forward modeling approach

Anisotropy analysis becomes an important step in processing and interpretation of seismic data. One of the most important things in anisotropy analysis is anisotropy parameter estimation which can be estimated using well data, core data or seismic data. In seismic data, anisotropy parameter calculation is generally based on velocity moveout analysis. However, the accuracy depends on data quality, available offset, and velocity moveout picking. Anisotropy estimation using seismic data is needed to obtain wide coverage of particular layer anisotropy. In anisotropic reservoir, analysis of anisotropy parameters also helps us to better understand the reservoir characteristics. Anisotropy parameters, especially e, are related to rock property and lithology determination. Integrated Structural Modeling & Seismic Attributes Analysis for Fractured Basement Reservoir Identification in Pangea Block, South Sumatera Basin, Indonesia

The development of basement structures in Pangea Block (PB) had a complex geological history related to polyphase deformation of South Sumatera Basin. The application of conventional seismic method for naturally fractures distribution mapping could not be conducted directly due to dimension of fracture that below the seismic resolution (subseismic). This paper presents integrated G & G methodology for fractures mapping in basement using structural model and seismic attributes analysis. Result of the study was expected to provide input for further oil and gas field development, particularly on basement rocks interval.
