Wave and Ray Spatial Dynamics of the Light Field in the Generation, Evolution, and Annihilation of Phase Dislocations

Valerii P. Aksenov; I. V. Izmailov; B. N. Poizner; Olga V. Tikhomirova

The spatial dynamics of the light field during the generation, evolution, and annihilation of screw phase dislocations in Gaussian optical beams is analyzed. The regularities of transformation of an aberration wave front of a beam into a singular front are exposed. The structure of the field of directions of the energy-flux density vector is analyzed on the basis of a solution of a parabolic wave equation for the complex amplitude of a monochromatic light field with the construction of streamlines and investigation of the full set of critical points in the corresponding dynamic system. It is established that the energy redistribution in the beam and appearance of dislocations occur in accordance with the transformation of singularities: local focusing of a streamline in the vicinity of a node is a precursor of a generated pair of screw dislocations, and the streamline takes on a helix shape near an unstable focus.

Dynamic chaos in a problem of objects positioning: On a capability and features of application

Ilia Romanov; I. V. Izmailov; B. N. Poizner

Possibility of dynamic chaos using for determination of navigation objects position (over a communication channel length, or for a signal delay time in it) is discussed. In this context the correlation properties of dynamic modes of spiral and screw chaos types are studied and compared using a Rössler generator as an example:.

Detector of Optical Vortices as the Main Element of the System of Data Transfer: Principles of Operation, Numerical Model, and Influence of Noise and Atmospheric Turbulence

Valerii P. Aksenov; I. V. Izmailov; Feodor Yu. Kanev; B. N. Poizner

The method is proposed of optical vortex topological charge detection along with a design of a corresponding detector. The developed technique is based on measurements of light field intensity. Mathematical model simulating performance of the detector is described in the paper, and results of numerical experiments are presented which illustrate recognition of a vortex in a turbulent medium and in the presence of amplitude and phase noise in the registered radiation. Influence of shifts of the system optical axis on precision of registration is also considered in the paper.

Second circuit of two-dimensional feedback loop in ring interferometer as a way to create coupled oscillators system or couplings in an oscillator

I. V. Izmailov; Alexander V. Lyachin; Michael E. Nazarov; B. N. Poizner; Denis A. Shergin

Multi-bypass model of light field dynamics in ring interferometer, which has additional feedback loop circuit, was constructed. By the conception of chain of transpositional points a two-circuit interferometer was treated as a coupled oscillators system or as a NRI with system of additional couplings. Computational experiments and constructed maps of fractal dimensionality indicate possibility of dynamical regime control in such an interferometer.

Nonlinear optical fiber interferometer: a model and simulation

I. V. Izmailov; B. N. Poizner; Ilia Romanov

Optical scheme of three-channel nonlinear fiber-optic lightguide interferometer (NFOLI) is developed. The base of mathematical model of processes in NFOLI is two ordinary differential equations describing dynamics of nonlinear phase shift of light field in the core and in the facing of optical fiber. Phase portraits and Fourier spectrum are constructed. It is obvious that under various parameters in the model regimes of static state, periodical oscillations and deterministic chaos are possible. The optical scheme of three-channel nonlinear optical fiber interferometer (NFOLI) contains three inputs and three outputs, nonlinear medium (NM), which is single mode step-graded index lightguide doped by HgCdTe. Relaxation time of the material nonlinear acceptability τ=10-12s, nonlinear refractive index n2=10-6 cm2/W. The base of mathematical model of processes in NFOLI (which is constructed in relevant approximations) is two ordinary differential equations describing dynamics of nonlinear phase shift u1,ne1 of light field in the core and nonlinear phase shift u2,ne1 in the facing of fiber-optic lightguide. Simulation demonstrates that under various values of nonlinearity coefficient K in the model (1)-(7) regimes of periodical oscillations and deterministic chaos are possible. This means htat NFOLI can be service as a base of optical information security system.

I. V. Izmailov; B. N. Poizner; Ilia Romanov; Sergey Smolskiy

The book “Cryptology Transmitted Message Protection” results are summed up laconically. Authors indicate potential ways of further fundamental investigations in this field. In particular, it should be necessary to eliminate a break between nonlinear dynamic cryptographic paradigm and the traditional ones. The authors position is to be able to generate a discussion of professionals on this interesting and promising direction.
